Because it drives underlying points home that the reader won't admit to knowing are true.

Satire is basically making fun of something that people get uptight about,like politics or religion for example.It doesn't have to be funny to elicit a reaction from the audience.Then what's the point if reading satire? If it ain't funny, it's a waste of everyone's time.
Like, I can't remember the writer, but the satire about killing Irish babies and eating them. That one was great.

A satire is the reflection of the writer's inner feelings towards a particular subject, and yes, you are butthurt from the latest chapter.
