They didn't kill anyone yet but if they say the nuclear weapons they are building are for confrontation with the United States and release videos of some of our cities being nuked its pretty obvious what they're intending.

And how is it obvious what they are intending? How many times did hollywood nuke United States? What are they intending.. but all that propaganda I'm pretty sure they will make world hate one country and give them more than enough reason and approve to invade it

Tell me .. why would NK want to nuke United States and what would they achieve with that ? What would be the point?

Honestly, no one is really sure if common logic applies to North Korea. They shelled an island that was part of South Korea... and are damned lucky they didn't start a war in doing so. I've also been to the DMZ, and while I could not get anyone to give me any sort of answers about how frequently it happens... but North Korea does fire across the border at our sentries from time to time. The implication was that it happened a bit more often than we would expect... but having no expectations for how frequent such an event would be - I have no base-line to work with. Still - it's happened, and I would imagine at least a few times a year.

Then you can go back to the mid-2000s, when Kim Jong Il was talking about turning America into a sea of fire, or something along those lines. Then they were torpedoing South Korean ships (a -huge- detour... typically, South Koreans and North Koreans do not kill each other in the decades following the establishment of the 38th parallel; they will fight each other to a coma to show their pride for their nation, but they still largely see each other as family... twisted, corrupt family, perhaps, but family).

I'm not convinced one can really expect them to behave in a manner we consider reasonable or sensible.

Common logic and compassion is definitely something that usa's domestic and foreign actions lack. Not NK only.

I'm not going to defend our schizophrenic foreign policy decisions. But, there again, I'd be more along the lines of a hard-nosed paladin when it comes to foreign policy. I wouldn't frequently side with intervention - but when I did, it would conclude with a nation building project to better the lives of people, or, if such proves impractical - complete sterilization of the affected region.

Your anus would pucker every time I made the decision to get involved - but at least you would find my actions consistent.

Your argument, however, is hopelessly quaint and speaks of little sentient value.

The North Koreans have a massive flag on their side of the border (reinforced by steel cables). Why? To be bigger than the South Korean's flag. Similarly, each time South Korea built a new convention center near the DMZ, North Korea re-built theirs to be taller.... except they couldn't compete in terms of constructing a real building... so the one you see is really only a 12-foot thick edifice (but it's taller and appears somewhat real when looking at it from South Korea).

The two nations entered into a treaty that states South Korea will never build a building taller than the one currently at the DMZ (or North Korea will invade? I think the South Koreans just did that to give them one less thing to bitch about).

It's actually quite comical over there.

My comment wasn't meant to have much value in the first place. Just a quick statement to clarify that a terroristic interventionist state (usa) shouldn't try to meddle with another 'bully' nation (NK). Too much irony in that.
I agree on the thought that the 'bully' policies of NK forced upon SK are more than pathetic.

About time. Political power balance shouldn't be in the hand of a single nation. Thanks to this consistent tilt since the fall of Russia from Super power Status, America has reigned as it saw fit. USA completely abandoned all human rights postulates set by UN - which is a sham organization anyway - and rent asunder Afghanistan and Iraq, killing millions through its use of Chemical Weapons. I am rooting for NK. We need a balance in power, someone who can keep the other nation in check.

Im American, so naturally im going to be a little biased on this topic. While i cant really argue much of what you said i dont think NK is anywhere near to becoming a serious threat. The bombs theyre detonating are like baby bombs compared to the ones we were dropping on Japan 60+ years ago. I dont think the government wants to jump into another war, but its probably inevitable if they start producing bombs that are actually a threat. In which case i dont see it going well for NK.

Why does it matter so much that usa has a better bombing potential than NK? xd I sense some more patriotism..

I was merely saying that since he mentioned that there needs to be someone to balance the power. And Korea is a long way off. All i was saying.

^ You will have to be extremely simple-minded if you believe that NK isn't backed by China at this point.

China has not been in support of their experiments. No need to start pulling insults already.

They're just trying to show off, show to the world that they're still strong despite Kim Jong Il's demise. I doubt if they want to push through a full-scale nuclear war with the United States.

^ I am not insulting you. What makes you say that? China doesn't need to openly state anything. All of this is political propaganda, just like USA condems Israel's atrocities against Palestine, but literally nothing to curb them.

The simple-minded comment. Well the things they have stated havent been in favor of the tests NK has been carrying out. Of course you could be right, but almost every article ive read on the subject says China is growing uneasy of its longtime ally at this point. But of course theyre just words.

^ It wasn't my intention to insult you. If you feel that way, then I apologize. I have read all the articles that appear here in daily newspapers as well. That doesn't mean that NK has no support from the world's obvious next super power. China's GDP will surpass USA sooner or later, whereas USA's economy is crippling because of a number of factors, military invasions being one of the major causes.

Its all good. And yeah theyre still their main ally. And yes unfortunately for the US that is probably correct. The amount of money we owe China is staggering. My History teacher jokes that by the time we are his age we will be speaking Mandarin ._.

USA can play videogames where they kill real life civilians with drones, what's wrong with a bunch of communists playing with nukes? And the *******s always target other *******s that are possibly bigger *******s than them. Why do I never hear about evil terrorrists targeting SWITZERLAND or DENMARK or BULGARIA or any other country? You only hear about attacks or threats directed at the USA and a couple of other countries.

I only care about them using nukes because it would affect me, their leaders are probably idiots who won't realize that throwing a few hundred nukes on a country would devastate the ozone layer, shoot radioactive particles everywhere and damage the whole planet just because X country wanted to have the bigger ****.
