Of course he can. Apart from his talent, intelligence, speed and ninjutsu, he has with his Mangekyou a divine power. Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu and Susanoo, three divine techniques, ultimately strong and fast. One eye to eye contact is enough to leave the opponent mental destroyed within a second. Being in sight of Itachi is already deadly and Susanoo is a perfect attack and defense - Totsukas Sword and Yatas mirror not included. Look at Orochimaru, who failed in view of Itachis simple genjutsu. The sannin can't beat Itachi, not before the power of his eyes and intelligence.

But he can't beat both Jiraiya and Oro and Tsunade all at once. His chakra would be depleted and he would die.
Any one Sannin though, well that is a horse of a different color. Oro said himself he was no match for Itachi. And unlike Itachi lying to save Jiraiya and Naruto, Oro had no reason to lie. And in fact there was manga proof where Oro tried to fight Itachi.
So I guess Itachi >Jiraiya, & Itachi>Oro, & Itachi>>Tsunade

What do you think he was trying to do when he came out of Sasuke's body?
I know he wasn't trying to take over Itachi's body then. He attacked him, that makes it a fight, albeit a very short and one-sided fight.
The first time he tried to take over Itachi's body and he got caught in a genjutsu. He then proceeded to lose an arm. I assume this was before he could regenerate, as his regeneration is dependent on his true form, and he only got turned into that white snake after years of taking over people's bodies.
Either way Oro can't beat Itachi.

It might seem crazy to argue, but I wouldn't say Oro can't beat Itachi, especially with full knowledge. Each encounter they had Oro was shocked and caught off guard by Itachi, as he possessed two abilities that could easily beat anyone who isn't aware of them, or would not have expected its effects.

Not very many people I can tell you that. Oro was looking for the Totsuka sword, so there is no way he would have guess Itachi would have it.
There are a few situations in which Oro could win, I will give you that, but then you can usually make a situation where anyone can beat anyone else. The problem is I can easily make 15 or 20 scenarios in which Itachi wins.
Oro is awesome but with his legendary weapons, MS, and genjutsu, you would be hard pressed to find someone who can outright beat Itachi.

Yea that's the what I was trying say for the most. There no one knew/knows what Itachi possess(ed), that's what mad him so badass and he was great at what he did. The thing that I was basically saying was that, if Oro went into a face to face battle fulling knowing Itachi's abilities, there a possibly he could be the victor. Btw only reason why I meander this was because I got the interpretation that Oro would lose in any situation. (just backing up my fave) lol

Hanzo can definitely not beat the Sannin in their prime as a team. Hell I doubt he could beat Oro or Jiraiya one on one in their prime. The Sannin only got better with age, and they were only teenagers when they fought Hanzo. Teenagers. How many teenagers do you know that can stand up to a kage?
I can think of two and they were given most of their abilities by the Sannin or their relatives.
So my point is Hanzo can't take them. No chance. Hashirama doesn't have a chance either. In case you didn't remember he can't summon the tailed beasts like Madara can, and he gave them all away to other villages and they were made into jinchurriki. hashirama is overrated. I think Oro and Jiraiya are better than him.
Rinnegan Madara, probably.
Nagato, probably.
Tobi, probably.
Kabuto, only with his edo army.

The only reason y I, never put negato in this is jiraiyas' no orochimaru when it comes to genjutsu and his would've took down all 6path if present.

Hashirama couldn't do it by himself. Maybe two sannin at once but when the third one comes in he's screwed. Byakougou Tsunade, SM Jiraiya, and Eight Branches Oro, Frog Summons, Katsuya, and Manda.
Tsunade's healing abilities are unrivaled. She has an extensive knowledge of poisons and the human body. She's able to use chakra scapels. She's able to short circuit the nervous system. She is the strongest character to date physically (broke through Susanoo and lifted Gamabunta's sword). Her regeneration was rivaled only by edo-tensei's and Hashirama. In addition she's quickish and dextrous. And she has huge chakra reserves due to her being both Senju and Uzumaki. and being an Uzumaki her she is harder to kill. (Kushina after Kurama's extraction from her body). She tanked an attack to her lungs from Kabuto which he said would have stopped any normal person from breathing but she was still fighting.She tanked the Sword of Kusunagi, the Totsuka Sword, Kabuto's attacks, Heavenly Transfer Technique, and Yasaka Magatama.
As far as Oro I'm not expert but a quick edo-tensei spam, several snake jutsus. Like I'm said I'm not very knowledgeable of him Tsunade and Jiraiya are my strong suits. But he tanked a Tsunade punch.... so yeah.

Just saw the poll results. Wow those 3 are underrated. Itachi considered himself even with Jman, Jman took out 3 pains all by himself until he was ambushed from behind, Hanzo only was able to beat them when they were kids, and sasuke is just nowhere near their lvl.
