We had previously heard that Japan was going to get One Piece episode 530, “Fishman Island’s King, the Sea God Neptune” on January 1st, 2012. That would normally mean December 31st is when the simulcast of One Piece would air. However, anime distributor FUNimation has announced on Saturday, December 31, 2012 there will be no simulcast for One Piece. The reason? The Holidays. We’re not sure if Japan is still going to be airing One Piece 530, but based on FUNimation’s announcement it is likely the episode has been delayed.
Unless, FUNimation decided to air 530 together with 531 the following week, but that’s just our guess based on the limited information we have. What ever the case, the next episode of FUNimation’s stream of One Piece is this Saturday, December 24th. The simulcast stream after that, One Piece 530, is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2012.
