Sasuke grabs the tossed kunai as he listens attentively to all his teacher was saying. After the long speech is concluded, he watches as his teacher disappears into the forest....
Probably gonna chase some rats or something...<_< >_>
Sasuke then turns his attention to the task at hand. As he brainstorms the way forward, he stares intently at the tree while repeatedly tossing the kunai in his hand into the air. As he looks at the tree, he can hear his sensei's words ringing in his ears. His sensei had made it seem like this task was gonna be nigh impossible to perform within a short period of time. Sasuke didn't like drawn-out activities. He quiet often got bored and lost interest at about halfway through most long events.
*sigh* I guess it can't be helped...
As Sasuke says this, he begins to do a couple of stretching movements, in preparation for the commencement of the task at hand.
Sasuke starts with the basic move of gathering his chakra and channeling it to his feet. He takes a deep breath and focuses on doing exactly what he did in his previous exercise. Fortunately, he finds that he is now able to mold and control his chakra relatively more easily. When Sasuke feels his chakra in the soles of his feet, he hastily takes two or three steps backwards and breaks into a trot, approaching the tree. When he gets close enough to the tree to begin his ascent, he jumps towards it, planting his right foot at knee level, while quickly bringing his left foot to a position a couple of centimeters above the right.
Sasuke does his movements so fast that for a splot second it actually seems like he has actually succeeded this exercise in one attempt. This however, isn't the reality of the matter. As soon as Sasuke's feet are planted on the tree's trunk, nature decides to teach him a basic science lesson: what goes up must come down. Sasuke falls flat on the ground.
Sasuke sits up and takes the kunai to mark his "incredible" feat. He can't help but laugh as he realizes how bad he had done on his first try. As he sits staring absentmindedly at the mark showing his failure, he tries to think of what he did wrong. He goes over everything his sensei had said before he left and realizes that perhaps he didn't use enough chakra hence the failed attempt.
For the next couple of minutes Sasuke sits down in a meditative posture and concentrates on channeling a substantial amount of chakra into his feet. After he feels there's a more than enough deposit of it in the soles of his feet, he rises and just lie before, he takes a few steps backwards and trots towards the tree. This time, as he approaches it, he targets a spot some centimeters above the first mark as the site for his first step. As this spot was a bit higher, it was required that he jump to successfully plant his foot there. When Sasuke jumps and plants his foot on the tree, much to his dismay, his foot slips to the right side of the tree, sending his body crushing into the tree. With his body twitching from pain, he allows himself to fall on his right side as he grabs his head in anguish. Even after the pain subsides, Sasuke continues to lay on the forest floor, trying to figure out what just happened. He then remembers his sensei's words " Too much, and your chakra will repel you from the side of the tree..."
With this, Sasuke realizes that to complete this task the first thing for him to do is identify the exact amount of chakra he has to use in order to support his weight, and then maintain that exact amount throughout his ascent.
Sasuke:[Approaches the tree and stands in front of it, examining it] Ohhh, so that's how its done eh.....
He then starts to send his chakra into the soles of his feet again. After a brief moment, without any preparation, he leaps unto the side of the tree, planting both of his feet at same height of the tree. To his utter relief, he doesn't fall this time, although he notices he isn't really that steady and that it almost appears he is hanging by a thread. He takes one step with his left foot. Momentarily, he remains attached to the tree after his step, but he notices that the grip was getting weaker quickly. Split-seconds before the grip gives way completely he back flips and lands a few feet from the tree, crouching momentarily to accommodate for the force he came down with. He then approaches the tree to mark his new height on its trunk. He now knew what he had to do, and he was ready to practice forever until he was perfect...or 30 minutes, whichever came first <.<
[Camera drifts upwards until it reaches a height where we can see the sun/moon and hence track the time....fast forward to when the sun/moon tells us its just about midnight. Camera drifts back downwards to where we left Sasuke. We see the trunk of the tree first. It has has several fresh horizontal marks on it starting from knee level and ascending all the way to the top. We see Sasuke, now with his shirt off, relaxing on the highest branch of the tree. The sweat he's drenched in tells us he's gone through a very tiring ordeal to eventually get to where he was. Probably more than 30mins of practice....He's seen to wait patiently for his sensei....]
