Now, regarding fire. I want you to tell me what Fire is and what Fire Release is in Narutoverse. Remember, i'm looking to see if you can understand the notion behind fire as an element in nature also. Understanding fire leads to better understand how to effectively use it and also, how to effectively make CJ and such for it. U_U

Fire is the element of power. It can be wild and out of control or it can be manipulated as a weapon or shield.It can just as easily harm the user as it can the enemy by being spread with no thought of where and how to use it beforehand.
Fire release ranges from various fireballs spewed from the mouth to being combined to form boiling mist or lava (with or without the KG) and used as a shield ( sasuke using amaterasu on his susannoo).
I see it as mostly offensive use, and for combining with other elements to make them both stronger.

Fire Release (火遁, Katon; English TV "Fire Style") is one of the basic elemental nature transformation offensive-type techniques that primarily allow the user to create fire by increasing the temperature of their chakra. There are some exceptions to this though in which the shinobi forms mediums in order to create explosions.
Commonly affiliated with the Tiger hand seal, Fire Release techniques are mid-to-long-ranged that cause burning and explosive damage. Fire ninjutsu is common among Konohagakure ninja, with the Uchiha clan being especially proficient with its use. Amaterasu, a Mangekyō Sharingan technique that ignites a target with powerful black flames, is known as the highest level fire technique. Amaterasu has been seen to be near unquenchable; only Sasuke Uchiha has been seen to be able to suppress them.
Fire Release is strong against wind because air naturally feeds fire but weak against water due to its ability to extinguish flames. A sufficiently powerful fire technique can overcome its natural weakness of water by evaporating it.
Fire Release is also effective when used in conjunction with Wind Release, as the power of the flames is greatly increased. Fire Release techniques can also produce thunderclouds when shot into the sky, producing the conditions necessary for a Lightning Release technique utilising natural lightning.

Both of you captured the essence of Katon or Fire Release very well. However, as i said before, i wanted also your views on the element itself. Fire. To keep things going, i'm going to explain my view on Fire, which is based on both its nature and its meaning in Naruto Verse.
Fire is Rebirth. Its the element of transformation. It picks up things (like, lets say wood+air) and transforms it into other things (carbon dioxide+coal+heat+light, etc etc). Its an element that both destroys and creates. It has no physical substance, however, a strong enough fire can hold momentum and have mass in our atmosphere due to its effect on the air around it. Fire is an element that requires control. If not, it turns against its wielder. In some mythologies its also the element (through the use of the Sun) that joined Water and Earth and made them create Life. Its ultimate manifestation is the Sun which in return represents all aspects of Fire to its extreme.
Now, reguarding Fire Release we all know that its a mainly Offensive elemental Release. It's also combines well with most elements. With water it can produce either boil or steam release. With Earth it makes Lava. With Wind its said it produces Scortch. And, if you take a look at all these combinations, Fire gives the other element energy and attack power while lowering its defensive abilities. Fire Release is also one of the energy releases of the 5, along with Lightning. However, it acts both as Wind and as Lightning. As Wind in the way it moves and is used (generally blasts from the mouth using your breathing as a medium) and as Lightning in the sense that its basically only energy with no physical form.

Indeed. The actual point of talking about what each element represents is that it helps you think of more logical ways of using said element in original techniques and methods. It also helps you to take into account the whole effects of each element. For example, people tend to forget that fire has the bi product of heat and light, meaning that you can use it to produce steam against a water technique to hide yourself and prepare an ambush. People when facing a Water Technique, use an Earth technique...It does the job and in theory its correct, however, understanding each element beyond their role as an elemental release in NB helps you come up with adiccional, more intelligent ways of using them. And this my friends, leads ultimately to victory. U_U

Sorry! Got sidetracked. :ghehe: now, do the same as with earth. A battle between both but were you are limited to Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Suiton Techniques. No Customs.
Remember, using water requires strategic thinking as many of the techniques require water sources or to be battleing on water. I want you to battle on a plain field. Then, at a given point, i'll create a giante lake and you will battle on top of that. This serves to be able to use water techniques in different kinds of battle grounds as its the element that suffers more with battleground changes.
I will create the thread in a jiffy.
