Metallica would have sold truck loads of that album if the internet was around, there'd been heavy radio play (like Nicki's garbage) and music videos (Metallica only started making music videos from And Justice For All onwards). Simple extrapolation proves this and as soon as Metallica jumped on board with the commercial aspect of music, they sold millions which just shows that success requires selling out and that true art succeeds without a mainstream backing (i.e. Metallica's 80s material).

I guarantee Nicki would not have sold much in the 80s.

Different time periods. People don't buy music a lot today because they can easily download it for free.

having 201 thousand sales in a week is a lot for our time now where everything is more computerized and you can download it fore free. Like i said most artists today cant drop a album out of nowhere and sell a lot.

Most good rappers do not have ghostwriters. Most good rappers are/were ghost rappers. Safaree was one of Nicki's ghost writer. It's obvious.

I do not like rap at all. Really i can not. Atleast i can understand why people like some rappers, but i do not get how ppl like Nicki Minaj get so much recognition. She is probably a good person, seems cool outside of music but her work is not much admirable.

Everyone has a different taste in music.

Because her raps are actually good. If people didn't like her music she would get zero sales. Like I said people like who they like because they have a different taste in music. Taylor Swift went from country to pop and a lot of her music is about love/breakups. Would you expect peoole not to like her music? But regardless of rather you find her music good or not. She sold a lot of albums on the first week for 1989.
