We all saw how bad the reception was for the Infinite Warfare trailer. Not only did the fans hate it (the video has 800k dislikes with only 200k likes) but the main rival developer team for Battlefield went out of their way to diss and make fun of the game and its developers. The hate and bashing has been strong in these past few days, and with the release of the trailer for Battlefield 1, it only got stronger.

Now, everyone was curious to how Infinity Ward would react to this, if at all, and we finally got a reaction. A suprising one!

"...with such harsh words being conveyed, it would be only human for IW to react in a similar manner about the recently revealed trailer for Battlefield 1. It got that opportunity when a fan commented on Facebook on its official page reminding them of the trailer, and how DICE’s developers were ‘correct’ in calling them out."

"You would expect them to respond strongly or not at all, but Infinity Ward responded in style and they definitely deserve some internet points for doing so. Surprisingly, it had nothing but words of encouragement and admiration for DICE and its recently revealed Battlefield 1 trailer."

"But IW didn’t stop there, several other team members chipped in with some positive words about the trailer. Principal Rendering Engineer Michael Drobot had only praises for the facial animations and rendering work on the trailer."

"Game Designer Douglas Holder (who was part of Naughty Dog earlier) also chimed in:"

"Another Naughty Dog veteran who joined IW recently, Director of Communications Eric Monacelli, also had some great things to say about the trailer"

What do you think about this? Good sportmanship or a publicity stunt? Either way, it's a nice gest and I appreciate it. We'll see how the whole thing turns out when both games hit the shelfs.

it just proved that iw didnt listen to the fans but i guess ik what im getting remastered modern warfare and that new battlefield
Well as far as we know, it's not their call. Activisions is pulling the strings and much like any other publisher, they want as much money possible with as little risk as possible. Playing it safe and throwing the same futuristic rubbish as always, which they know is gonna sell well and be a huge hit commercially and moderate one critically was the most profitable option.

To make sure this happens, they added MW just in case some want that old school stuff. Also, there's a chance they knew BF was gonna go historical so they didn't want to fight on the same ground. Money - it's all about money.

I think they were shrugging it off since it was brought up. But maybe we are all overthinking it and in reality they are really happy for them getting another chance at Battlefield and not giving us that trash they called a game a.k.a. Battlefield 4 unofficial addition.
Besides with this people who wanted a older style CoD can get their fix with this game.

I think what really destroyed CoD is the 3-year-development cycle. 3 years ago, everyone was screaming for a 'new' CoD. The development for IW started just then. I feel like the people cry about it way too much, even though I prefer boots on the ground as well. But at least IW is taking it to real space, instead of AW's and BO3's near future.
