[Discussion] Newgates Former Crew?

Iv been thinking and did Newgate have former crew members back when he fought with Roger?
Think about it. Are Vista, Jozu and Marco that old? Maybe Vista and Jozu were with him but definitely not Marco. He seems to be relatively the same age as Ace (maybe a little older)
And even if Vista and Jozu were with him they would have been on the same level that Shanks was on back in those days (maybe a little under) They would have been rookies on his ship. So do you think Newgate had other big guns in his crew back when he fought with Roger? And if so any ideas what happened to them?

And good idea. But still, wouldn't he have other members that were on the same level as Rayleigh?
I mean, he couldn't fight on par with Rogers crew with just less stronger versions of his current crew? (I say younger because most of them would be the same age that Shanks was at the time)

Look at it this way. Back in the Golden Age, before Roger became Pirate King, piracy wasn't as huge as it is in the current timeline. I'm sure Yonko and Shichibukai didn't exist, and the Marines weren't as dominant either. Remember, Roger was the first and only pirate so far to conquer the entire Grand Line.

I'm sure Whitebeard and Roger had small, individual crews. My reasoning, is that WB was stronger than Roger individually (because of the Gura Gura No Mi), but Roger's overall crew (and therefore strength), pushed him ahead of WB.

I'm not sure at all actually...Marco could have been a cabin boy I think.
-I think Shanks is older than Marco, and seeing how Shanks was Rogers cabin boy during that time, I can't imagine Marco being any different.

I never thought about this...But then again BB was apart of WB crew at that time.
-I don't think we ever got a huge hold on this whole time thing in One Piece. B/c BB can't be that much older than Shanks IMO

Like people have mentioned, we have seen him in a flashback, and he has the Phoenix Fruit, which heals everything. If it can heal tons of laser shots, it can definitely slow down growing old by a good margin. Frankly, we can't know how old he is until he actually tells us. But he calls Whitebeard dad as well, so he has to be a bit younger than him. My guess would be he is 50 years old or something, just for the wtf factor.

Yeah I understand what you're trying to say but I think Oda still has to discuss it. None of us can give you a concrete answer explaining why.

He was in a crew before he became a captain of his own.
I'd say Jozu and Vista will have been on his crew but not as commanders.
Marco would have been 8 when Roger died.
