To be honest SenseiSama it goes both ways. Implication does not always lead to fact. Which is why I'm waiting for further details on his powers. But it was mever stated to be a byakugan just a Sage Mode so they have that going for them

Pretty sure if he did that would get some awkward states. No one even knows that mitsuki is just an experiment. Orochimaru wouldn't attention drawn to himself by letting people know he is back at it again with the genetic modifications

Nope, Byakugan has always been a symbol for the full moon, and moon and sun can be represented in different ways, for Indra and Ashura it was the cycle of day and night. For Boruto and Toneri moon and sun is the solar the eclipse.
