[Suggestion] New premium glows!

Nice idea, but I think this is likely not to happen. There are currently so many perks of premium, that adding some more would make it "messy". IDK if you know, but there used to be a different glow in the past, and Premium Members requested for the color to be changed. From Yellow to Purple.
Honestly, I'd like, for us premium members, to have our own color, not black with purple glow.
Example : Like the Admins (BOLD RED), Moderators(BOLD BLUE), 1st Place contest winners(BOLD CYAN).
How bout we get a brown color, or any other color.

That's true. I wouldn't even mind if it just fully replaced the symbols tbh. Not sure about others. But, it would just be a Permissions group that you can select. It's pretty much set, as it already has the glow option, you'd just need to make it =(colour). But I get where you are coming from, there would be multiple lots of glow options (one for each current one), but it'd be more practical if it was just glow without symbols which: A) Shouldn't be that messy. B) Should be pretty easy.

No, I was unaware of that. I can see why it would be removed if you had to request to change it. But as I just stated above, it could work if it was without the symbols and just standard glow option in different colours which you could change by yourself in the Permission group section.

I wouldn't mind your idea all the same. U_U Though different glows if they, again, were just standard, would be similar option wise. I really wouldn't mind one over the other though!

I don't agree with you because :-

1) Bold is reserved for Staff Members for better Visibility.

2) Similar Colors could cause confusion.

3) And all most all color Spectrums are already taken. (Silver is Dope and Gold will not be clearly visible).

Glow is better cause it doesn't conflict with the Normal colors since it's just an effect and not a solid color in itself. With Glow, we can have more color choices and it doesn't cause any confusion either.

2) There is no similar color there, only the purple one, which the Designer has.

That wouldn't be bad. But then some would want X symbol with Y glow. Could cause problems. Lol

Every username on the post count area has a Bold Username, this is a Vbulletin Feature. This doesn't mean that your username is in bold (Look at the Online List for example). I highly doubt Bold will ever be given though. U_U

I think only staff members have bold names.

I don't remember the exact reason why as it's been awhile since this has been suggested, but it had something to do with confusing newer members. If premium members were allowed to run around with their usernames in fifty shades of gray it'd be a hot mess. The single color chosen to distinguish members (Sensei, Staff, Premium and 1st Place Winners) are so that those particular members can be easily noticeable in the case that someone might need to contact them (Sensei, Staff). On the other hand, premium members and 1st place contest winners have it as a perk as oppose to having it for a practical reason. Nevertheless, there was another more technical reason for it not being implemented in the past but it completely escapes me at the moment.

I see. I did do a quick search before I made the thread, but didn't turn up any results. Nonetheless, the staff/sensei names look entirely different to the glow effect. :|

Nah Exon. I think that the glow should be for Premiums only, scrap the colour, it'll bring too much confusion. You weren't here when there was a week or so when everybody could change their names to a colour they prefered. How much people got confused whether someone was a mod or a sensei, or any other special mod despite having another colour. Premium is glow, regular colour for higher ups and sensei's.

I see where you are coming from, for new members. But I think there is a big enough difference.

A new member will of course be confused, even with the current colored names, since there are quite a lot.

I think it would be a good idea to have the opportunity to at least have a set of colours to choose from as premium different to those already in use by mods, administrators, contest winners and all. Besides there are those little banners below the avatars identifying them as such or the symbol of the contest that person won.
