I don't get why they do not ask those fans if they could use some of their designs. I'm sure lots of people wouldn't even demand money in exchange as long as they are specifically mentioned in the credits. I know that I'd do it this way. Being a part of the original Pokemon-franchise is more than enough reward imo.

I'll just randomly leave some cool designs here that are way better than anything from the upcoming game, in my opinion only of course:

Hipaku and Willoweep looks so friggin beyond sweetness! That artwork is 10 out of 10! Wow!

The people at Game Freak (Matsuda and company) are really prideful, and believe that they don't need a helping hand when it comes to designing new Pokemon.

^ That guy's name is James Turner. He is either a hit or miss artist. He made Vanilluxe (the ice cream pokemon....urgh). He also designed Golurk.
