Dumb Shikamaru, lean Choji, complex Ino, flat-chested Tsunade, large-chested Shizune, sexy Hinata, and playboy Sasuke. How are all these opposite or alternate characters in Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie? What happened in the Naruto universe?

According to the distributing company behind Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, TOHO, it’s just as many of you guessed – genjutsu! Naruto and Sakura are transported from the Hidden Leaf Village we all know and love to an alternate reality created by the Masked Man’s genjutsu. Both Naruto and Sakura are unaware that they have been caught in genjutsu and it is this alternate reality, according to TOHO, that bridges the main story to the movie story, both of which are created by Masashi Kishimoto.

Of course we’re sure you have many questions in regards to Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, as do we at Saiyan Island, but rest assured the answers will all come in due time. After all, Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie comes out July 28th in Japan! No North American or European release date has been announced at this time, but, we do expect an unofficial April – May 2013 release online.​

Typical. I guessed that was what happened - Tobi plays mind tricks on the protag and whatnot. I'm not trying to criticize (this movie does interest me) but the story sounds like a ripoff of the game, Okami when Amaterasu gets transported to the past where everybody looks the same but isn't the same person. Unless you've played the game, then you probably won't know what I'm talking about, but anyway, if everybody's personality is warped, then I wonder what Itachi's like?

Finally a movie that will be different from the past ones. Kishi writing the plot is a very good thing in my opinion. Since he has created them as we know them today, it will be nice to see how he will change them.

Additionally, TOHO, the distributing company for Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, has released an image with members of the team working on what may possibly be the movie. On the right side you will see a little fragment of Naruto’s hair and headband on the computer monitor with what looks to be a red-head. The more obvious two screens on the left side also shows a red-head character. We’re unsure who it is as it could be any number of characters from Kushina to Nagato to Tayuya. It may even be an unknown filler character. Whoever (or whatever) it is, well, if we do find out before the movie’s release, we will let you know here on Saiyan Island!

Kiba, Tenten, Neji – New Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie Scan​

A brand new Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie scan has emerged! It features Kiba, Tenten, and Neji! By the looks of it, and we could be wrong, it looks like Kiba is much more goofy. Regular Kiba seems pretty cool to us, but based on the face he is making there, he looks so much like a goofy Naruto. Tenten, who is normally a skilled weapons user, looks a bit inaccurate and clumsy to us here at Saiyan Island. This is because the drawing of her has bandages and what seem to be scratches on her arms. Her facial expression also looks like she made some clumsy mistakes.

As for Neji, well, the normal Neji is serious and very task-orientned. This Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie version looks a bit creepy. One may even say he looks perverted. Just look at that expression, he is dreadfully and oddly excited for something! And we’re sure the team at Shonen Jump knows everybody loves the new, sexy Hinata, so they’ve thrown in some more drawings of her for readers to enjoy.
