Now with your completion of D-Ranks, we're going to discuss handseals before moving on. After learning completing each rank, I'm going to have some more information to bestow upon you. This will allow you to grow in strength as well as knowledge and by the time our training is over, you'll be a fully fledged shinobi.

This time around, the topic is handseals.

Handseals are a method used to focus, control and mold chakra for certain techniques. Some techniques require a large amount of chakra to be utilized whilst others need extreme control or shape manipulation. Both of these can be achieved through the use of handseals. The number of handseals is often dependent on the scale and shape manipulation required, as shown when Zabuza's Water bullet required eighteen or so handseals to simply prepare. However, those who attain completely mastery of their most favoured elemental affinity can often perform all techniques of that element with a single handseal, Tobirama being a prime example of this. What you can get from this is, techniques which are noticeably harder to control can be aided in their usage through handseals. Also, you must in your descriptions always state you use the handseals before you gather/focus your chakra.

With that, we'll move onto C-Ranks. Now I'm sure you're already familiar that some suiton techniques require a water source whilst others do not. You're going to notice that Suiton techniques mostly require water sources and the use of many handseals.

(Suiton: Suiben) - Water Release: Water whip
Rank: C

Description: After the user performs a series of 3 hand seals Rat → Dog → Ox, the user creates a whip of water that can be used to strike the opponent with a lashing action or wrap around the target to bind them. This technique can also have lightning techniques channeled through when they have bound their victim with the water whip.

I want you to perform a short sequence of three handseals before creating a whip of water and lashing it towards my rock clone. Direct the whip towards his arm and use it to tightly wrap around his dominant arm. After you do that, he will use his brute strength to haul you in, pulling you off your feet and towards him, before aiming to deal a full force frontal punch to your face.

Key Points: Beware, if you use this technique on someone, its likely they'll conduct lightning along the whip of water in order to electrocute you.

Description: The user After performing the required hand seals Ram → Tiger spits out high-viscosity, chakra infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take complete control over the battlefield. The normal scope of this technique is normally just a few metres, but if prepared, it is also possible to make an entire pond of starch syrup. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channelling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand.

To prevent this happening, I want you to perform two handseals and envisioning the sticky, viscous form of water I told you about earlier. Focus on attaining these qualities for the next water technique you use, before spitting out a highly viscous torrent of water which will cover my clone in a dense blanket of adhesive liquid. The blanket will prove to be so heavy that he'll be unable to move and will also stick his limbs together, saving you from his attack.

Key Points: I truly love this variant of water. Not this particular technique, but the wide array of custom techniques you can go on to develop with it. Also, remember that it deals no damage.

Performing the Tech

I first perform a series of 3 hand seals Rat → Dog → Ox, then i focus on molding my chakra with nature manipulation into water. Next I use shape manipulation to turn the water on my hand into a whip. Then I use my whip and lash it on to sensei's rock clone, tieing up the clones dominant hand. At the same time I keep on the continuous force so that sensei's clone can't pull me in to punch me on the face.

Performing the Tech

First I perform Ram → Tiger Hand Seals. Next I start to gather my water chakra into my mouth. Then I release high viscosity chakra infused water from my mouth which I aimed at sensei's clone nearby me. Then after the sticky water went below the Clone, the clone wasn't unable to move and got stuck. Gaining the advantage, I release more high viscosity chakra infused water from my mouth which I aimed at sensei's clone covering the clone entirely so that the clone can't move an inch.

(Mizu Bunshin) - Water Release: Water Clone

Type: Supplementary

Description: After performing the Tiger hand seal the user creates a clone of themselves made of water. These water clones have 1/10th of the users chakra. These clones are also limited in that they can only travel short range from the user without losing control. When a water clone take enough damage they revert back to normal water.
Note: Can only perform up to C rank Water techniques and requires a water source.

I hope you're familiar with the concept of clones. After performing the Tiger handseal and gathering your suiton chakra, I'd like you to create a clone of yourself made entirely of water from that puddle over there. Envision an identical copy of yourself forming out of water, granting him 1/10th of your chakra supply. However, if he takes enough damage or ventures further than five meters from you at any time, you'll lose control of him and he'll simply disperse back into normal water.

Key Points: The Shadow clone technique outclasses this one in almost every way. I don't think I'd ever use this technique in battle

(Suiton: Kirigakure Shiryoku Hakudatsu) - Water Release: Hidden Mist Eye Sight Deprevation

Description: Using the hidden mist jutsu the user reflects the natural light an a way that it blinds there opponent temporarily as long as the opponent is in the mist.
Note: Must have already used hidden mist jutsu

After constructing the clone, I want you step onto that water source (along with your clone) before utilizing that Hiding in Mist jutsu I taught you earlier, before focusing your chakra into the mist to control how natural light is reflected inside of it. Use the light to temporarily blind your clone, giving you an opening against him. Make sure he's in the mist when you begin manipulating light inflections via the mist otherwise this jutsu will prove to be futile.

Key Points: Decent technique, however Hiding in Mist already serves to blind the opponent, so this is an unnecessary extra.

(Suiton: Suigandan) - Water Release: Water Fang Bullet

Description: A technique that deals physical damage to the enemy with a liquid mass brought forth from underwater. Its power to kill and maim is augmented by adding a spinning motion to the compactly pressured water. During fights on water, taking advantage of its characteristic ability to attack from anywhere in a 360 degrees radius, in conjunction with other techniques for distraction, confusion and so forth, this technique has an extensive array of applications.
Note: Requires a water source.

After doing that, focus your suiton chakra into the water source below your feet and mold it to give the water around your clone a drill like form before causing it to rise up around him from 360 degree radius around him. Attack him with the technique to cause moderate damage.

Performing the Tech

First I start focusing my Chakra into a Water Source nearby me. Then while thinking of my Appearance, I perform the Tiger Hand Seal to create a Water Clone identical to myself. The Water Clone which can use upto C-Rank Water Jutsu.

Counter Strategies

The Best way to defend against this Jutsu is to sense the Movements made by the Opponent So I can predict an Attack, therefore I gain advantage than the Opponent.

Performing the Tech

I notice a Water Source to the Left of me. Then i Start focusing my Chakra onto the Water successfully infusing it with Chakra. Then I lift the water up and starts to knead my Chakra into it.After the Mist is formed, I start kneading more Chakra into it making it more thicker. The clone is caught in the Middle of the Mist. Taking this advantage, I manipulate my Chakra to make the Natural Light reflect off the Mist making the Clone temporarily Blind. Then I run towards the Clone and does a Flying Kick at the head making the Clone to fly back.

When I see Sensei's Clone on a Water Source. I start to focus my Water Chakra around the Clone and starts to manipulate the Water. Then I manipulate the Water to make it to Spin around and as well as heading towards the Clone in 360 Degree Angle surrounding the Clone making it difficult for her to Escape. The Clone got drowned in the Water.

Alright, these next few techniques deal with generating constructs of water, either to attack or encase the opponent in a prison of water.

(Suiton: Mizu No Tatsumaki) - Water Style: Water Tornado
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15

Descripton: The user will wave the Ram → Horse → Bird hand seals and utilize water to create a spinning water vortex around the ninja. The water acts both as a barrier and attack mechanism. The power of the vortex is enough to knock an opponent unconscious.
Note: Can only be performed if there is a water source near by.

For this first technique, I want you to perform the following three handseals before releasing your suiton chakra into the water source below to generate a spinning vortex of water around my clone in the not too far distance. The water vortex will knock him around inside (imagine a washing machine), keeping him firmly trapped in the tornado of water, allowing this technique to double as a barrier and an offensive measure.

(Suiton: Suirou No Jutsu) - Water Style: Water Prison

Description: This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water by waving the Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands spread in front palms out. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.

Following a similar concept of entrapment, I want you to utilize a suiton clone to aid you. After creating the clone, instruct it to approach my one and expel a sizable amount of water from its mouth. Tell it to use its suiton chakra to mold the released fluid into a dense spherical prison around its target. The sheer heaviness of the water will make it impossible for my clone to move inside, restricting his methods of escaping the dome to handsealess techniques or techniques which do not require any movement. However, your clone must keep part of its body (ideally one hand) inside of the dome at all times in order for the sphere to keep its form and structure.

Key Points: Using this jutsu yourself is quite dangerous, as if your enemy is feeling suicidal he may utilize an unfocused burst of lightning to kill the both of you (as the water will short-circuit the current). Also, there's a better ranged version of this jutsu you can construct from a distance and without the need to maintain physical contact with the dome.

(Suiton: Suishōha) - Water Style: Water Shock Wave

Range: Short-Mid (Made short range of the user with a med range reach)

Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water out of knowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.

Now, you're going to attempt a combination of the two jutsu you just attempted. Clap your hands together and focus your suiton chakra into the moisture in the air up to five meters around you to generate a spiraling vortex of water. Generate the vortex around my clone five meters away from you, allowing his body to be thrashed around inside before he disperse into a puff of smoke. Then with hand movements/gestures control the path of the water vortex to converge on my 2nd clone, using it to strike him down just as swiftly.

Key Points: Just realized this is actually a pretty good technique. Bare in mind its created short range of your position. Its useful tactic against clones, especially if they're short range of you since you can create the vortex around them.[/QUOTE]

Performing the Tech

I start to walk towards the Clone. After I reach the destination, I perform Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands spread in front palms out Hand Seals. I starts gather my Suiton Chakra into my Right hand before the Clone and manipulates my Chakra to create Water from my hand which I manipulate again to change it into the shape of a Ball around the Clone causing the clone to be trapped inside the Water. The moment I took out my hand out of the Sphere, it lost control and fell down freeing the Clone. Then I perform the Seven Hand Seals and starts to gather Suiton Chakra around me. I manipulate the Chakra to create Water Sphere around me which is capable of protecting me. Acting as a barrier.

Performing the Tech

While standing long range from his opponent, on top of the lake, J starts to gather a lot of his chakra and channels it within the water source below him. After doing so, he gathers some chakra into his hands before clapping them together. Momentarily, a large spiraling vortex of water appears out of thin air between J and his opponent. He then uses chakra manipulation to make the water vortex cataract into a powerful wave that spans wide and sprees toward his opponent and blasts them away.

Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

For this first technique, I want you to perform a sequence of five handseals before focusing your chakra into the sky above, specifically the moisture in the clouds. Utilize your chakra to generate a fairly heavy downpour of rain from the clouds above. Each and every individual raindrop will be infused with your chakra and hence they'll be closely linked to your senses. If a chakra-based entity/person obstructs this chakra, you'll able to discern their exact location however you won't know anything more than that.

Key Points: Good technique to pinpoint hidden opponents, especially when used against Hiding in Camoflauge technique. Without a doubt, one of the most commonly used Suiton techniques due to its utility. Rain users tend to use it as well

(Suiton: Mizu Kawarimi) - Water Style: Water Replacement

Description: The user can freely transform his body into liquid. This form allows him to avoid taking direct damage from many physical attacks but can not attack while in this form.

After doing so, I want you to focus your suiton chakra into every chakra point within your body whilst envisioning the fluid nature of water. Imagine yourself transforming into water before replicating this in reality, completely transforming yourself into a small puddle of water. This also counts as a full body surge, allowing it to break D-Rank and below Genjutsu.

Key Points: Much like I tell my Earth students, whilst this may seem like the ultimate evasion tactic, but do not be fooled. You can only fully transform your body into water, not partially. All or nothing. Partial liquidification is a unique trait of the Hozuki Clan. The whole process of transforming and reforming into and from water takes quite a bit of time, leaving you prone to attacks. In close range, you'll easily be caught in electrical currents (Nagashi) and beyond that you can be struck by high ranking pillars of fire which will evaporate you completely, making you unable to reform. Most of the time, its best not to use this jutsu. However, if you're on a water source, I don't see any reason not to you use it. On land, this should be a last resort if anything.

Description: The user after performing Dragon → Tiger will summon a large amount of water that will then be used to strike at the opponent in several versatile ways. It has been known to transform it into a dragon with a gaping mouth to attack. The water used will be stationary till it is sent offensively toward the opponent.

Finally, perform the handseals of Dragon → Tiger before summoning a large amount of water and using your suiton chakra to mold it in several versatile ways. One usage I particularly want to see is you transforming it into the shape of a dragon with a gaping mouth. Send the dragon towards my clone over there and use it to crush him into the ground. Originally, the water you summon will be stationary until you use it for offensive purposes.

Key Points: Since you "summon" the water for this technique, it can appear any where within mid-range of your position. If you're wondering how the water comes to be, its likely that you manipulate the moisture within the air itself and collect it together to form a tangible water source.

-Effective for speedy targets, able to track their movement better
-Perpetual, does have a time limit

Disadvantage

-Rain clouds can easily be blown away with appropriate jutsu, stopping this jutsu
-Cannot sense objects, e.g an Ultra Mortal Death Kunai thingie as it has no chakra to be sensed by the rain

Counter Strategies

Jamming jutsu. But even then i will be sensed. is there any way to get through with out getting sensed??
Maybe (Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique might work.

Performing the Tech

I first perform the hand seals Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake. I concentrate my chakra and raise my hands towards the sky. After a while rain cloud forms in the sky. I close my eyes and rain begins to pour down on a large area of the field. I keep my eyes closed and tilt my head up, enjoying the rain drops falling onto my face.

Performing the Tech

As I see's your clone closing near for an attack, I begin to concentrate and gather up my chakra. I then mold my water chakra up to the point where I have enough to use and get ready to anticipate my opponent's attack. As I see my opponent come in for a kick, I quickly use the built up chakra to fully transform into a liquid and avoid the oncoming attack. After I dodge the blow, I immediately reform back to normal.

Performing the Tech

While gathering my Suiton Chakra before me, I perform Dragon → Tiger Hand Seals and starts to create a Larger Quantity of Water before me. I manipulate the water to take from of a Sharp Spear and then I send the Water Spear towards the tree. The power of the Spear made a hole in the tree.

The next two are pretty basic but very effective technique when you use it at short range from the opponent!. For the first technique I need you to gather up the water chakra and perform the Tiger hand seal!. Once you do that, I need you to slam your foot to the ground causing a water to rise up and travel towards the intended target!. I would personally use this technique when the opponent is sprinting towards me to attack!.

Performing the Tech

I begin by performing the Tiger hand seal, while also focusing my suiton chakra into my right foot. After I've gathered enough I quickly stomp my foot onto the ground while releasing the built up chakra, causing water to rise up. The water speeds towards senpai's clone upon contact, the clone gives up a cloud of smoke and *poofs away*.

I start concentrating on my water chakra to make it dense and strong. Then i start gatherung suiton chakra from throughout out my body and focus it into my mouth. Next i start to compress it and making it as small possible and continuously compreesing it and after that i release a water wave from my mouth to a nearby tree. Once the jutsu collides with the tree, the tree breaks apart!

Now, The next technique is a pretty useful one if you have a water based summon. Perform the Tiger → Dog → Monkey → Snake → Boar → Tiger hand seals and make water rise from the ground!. Now, this water can be used to encase a water summon, making it able to move freely in the battlefield Or you can use this technique in a defensive way to stop incoming attacks or in an offensive way by encasing the opponent inside the water and making him drown. Pretty handy technique but the handseal is the negative part about it!.

Performing the Tech

While stationary on top of a lake & mid range from my opponent (senpai's clone), I notices my opponent spew a fire ball that was heading my way. In quick decisiveness, I channel my chakra into the water source below me and begins to gather the necessary amount by weaving the six required hand seals [Tiger → Dog → Monkey → Snake → Boar → Tiger]. After doing so, I uses shape manipulation to control my suiton. Once dodging the fireball my jutsu forms into a large body of water that overtakes senpai's clone. Due to the water pressure the clone *poofs away*.

- Not only that it hides your presences making it harder for the enemy to spot you
- Makes it easier for you to sneak up on them and perform a sneak attack.

- Requires a large source of water
- Even though it helps hide your presence from the enemy, any sensor type or byakugan user will be able to spot you.

Counter Strategies

I would get rid of the water source somehow or send a lightning jutsu into the water shocking everything in it hoping to hit the enemy.

Performing the Tech

After countering senpai's clone, I "retreat" by diving into the nearby lake. While underwater, I begin to gather a small portion of my suiton chakra and releases it into the water. By doing this, I was able to mask my presence and gather up more chakra for his next water jutsu while standing behind senpai.

I gathered my chakra into my arms then channeled it into a nearby water source, converting the water into suiton by manipulating it with my own suiton nature chakra. Once that was complete I formed the water into a drill-like shape and added a spinning momentum to it, after which I fired it at the senpai's clone which damages senpai's clone with this technique. The clone than *poofs away*.

Moving on. For the next technique, Gather up your water chakra and perform the Boar → Dog → Horse → Tiger hand seal and create a large amount of water and form a large spiralling stream of water. It can used to strike multiple target too. Pretty nice technique, But the dis adv. is that it need water source.

Now, this one is a really nice technique!. After performing the Ram → Snake → Tiger hand seal create a flammable black mist that forms a small cloud. Now, you can move the cloud above the target and disperse it covering the target in flammable oil, Making the opponent more vulnerable to fire style technique!. Though I would suggest using with a clone.

Advantage

- The flexibility of the jutsu.
- It can be guided to strike a target in a number of angles.


Disadvantage

- Judging by the sound of the jutsu, you'd have to be almost directly in-front of a decent amount of water to perform this.
- I would get some distance from the opponent and try and find a way to evaporate or electrocute the water source.
- Kinda leaves you open to wide range attacks doesn't it? I can honestly see myself getting hit with many different attacks as I perform the jutsu.

Counter Strategies

- If on the water source its better to use Suiton: Suijinheki. If on dry land a raiton style would do!

Performing the Tech

I perform the Boar → Dog → Horse → Tiger hand seals before I focus and gather together some chakra. I then release it into the water source and begin manipulating it. I draw a spiraling stream of water from the source, making it twist bend and swirl around, getting used to the motion of the water. I then make it go back into the lake.

- The jutsu is hard to pull off but if I can do it then it would be a pretty sure way to beat someone as not many things can counter my attacks while the enemy is underwater.
- This would be a good way to start a combination or assault off. Using this as a means to stop and hold the opponent.

Disadvantage

- Requires a large source of water
- If you fall in the water too then flapping around won't help you out.
- You get pulled under and drowned or your opponent attacks you and makes you fall into the water in then which you get pulled under and have no chance of being saved from the end of the earth.

Counter Strategies

I would counter it by using a jutsu to push my self backwards(long range) or just spit a powerful doton jutsu to the middle of the water to cancel the effect.

Performing the Tech

I stand on the lake and begin to pour chakra into it. I then begin to manipulate the water, making the currents twist and clash together causing a swirling effect. I then push your clone it when it's not looking and I continue to manipulate the water more, causing it turn into a violent whirlpool that has the effects of a rip tide. It pulls your clone under the water and it disperses as the water goes in to places a clone should never know exists.

- It can be used to assist and almost ensure that the person or clone that is within the cloud would be burnt by katon based jutsu.
- The jutsu can be easily controlled by the user which makes it harder for an opponent to block successfully.
- Good for diversion.

Disadvantage

- The jutsu can only deal damage when a fire jutsu is combined with it.
- If the user ignites the cloud and/or substance while the opponent is too close then both would take on damage.

Counter Strategies

I would counter it by igniting the oil with a fire jutsu before it reaches me.

Performing the Tech

I perform the ram > Snake > tiger as I'm gathering chakra. I then send my chakra out, making it surround your clone. Your clone becomes soaked in a flammable substance as the air around the clone takes on a tainted look of a cloud. Your clone is soaked so I use a random katon jutsu and burn your clone. The clone than *poofs away*.

2. Underwater motion technique.
3. Disperse the created cloud using a powerful wind technique or as you said, Ignite it.

That was good!. :). Now, Perform a combo move with the stuff you have learnt so far. Be creative! :)

Standing on the surface of the pool at first by the mercy of chakra coated feet I allowed myself to sink into the body of water slowly. Then, I began to use my Suiton chakra to merge with the water, disguising my physical form my senpai it was almost as if my body had turned to complete water. I then moved quickly while submerged and merged to end up underneath and behind my senpai before bursting from the water and delivering a crippling punch to his occidental lobe.



Senseing me behind senpai doges me quite easily and attachks me by throwing several shurikens, so i jump back on the near by pond. While standing on the water i start by doing the Tiger hand seal, while also focusing my suiton chakra into my right foot. After I've gathered enough I quickly stomp my foot onto the ground while releasing the built up chakra, causing water to rise up. The water speeds towards senpai's incoming shuriken attack, my attacks blocks senpai's incoming shuriken attack & also at the same time attacks senpai .



I just can't give him enough time to react (talking to myself), standing mid range from him, I imagine my self splitting into two identical copies of myself then i begin building up chakra i then send the chakra throughout my entire body next i make the tiger hand sign and while imagining myself i release the chakra from my body then a second me poofs into existence next to me. My clone and me look at each other and nod our head. I start concentrating on my water chakra to make it dense and strong. Then i start gathering suiton chakra from throughout out my body and focus it into my mouth. While my clone inhales air into my lungs, knead it with his futon chakra then gather energy below his jaws and forcefully release the wind infused air out of his mouth, he then continues until he had completely emptied his air sac. He focuses on the released air then control it to turn into a twister heading toward senpai. While in the mean time my real body starts to compress the suiton chakra making it as small possible and continuously compressing it and after that my main body releases a water wave from his mouth, the wind twister and my water gun collides which then combines and turns out to be a twistering water bullet! The twistering bullet goes on to hit senpai!! Kaboom!
