I understand sensei.. I don't have any idea.. Maybe other forms of water based ninjutsu..Oil, Syrup don't know.
Yes, you're correct.

Method 4: Alternative Releases (Water/Oil/Syrup)

This method will be easy. Basically these are techniques that create a different substance than the water, however, they still fall within the category of Suiton release. They are liquids that possess different properties than ordinary water, for example: Oil and syrup. Oil is a flammable substance, one wouldn't use this to combat fire but rather fuel it, and with syrup you create a much stickier viscosity of liquid that doesn't necessarily flow as fast as water but it gives a more adhesive property to it.

You know the drill. I'd like to hear your opinion on the advantages and disadvantages these techniques could have.

Advantages - These techs don't follow the traditional rules of water based ninjutsu...Because these techs don't follow the normal principles it gives the user an advantage capable of using these techniques in situations where the user may not normally be able to because of an elemental weakness.

Disadvantage - As said above these techs don't follow the traditional rules of water based ninjutsu it also can back fire on the user as well. Ex- The user will be in trouble if he uses oil release against a fire style user..

Is it correct Sensei, I am not sure. :'(

Advantages to Method

They don’t follow the traditional rules for suiton techniques meaning the techniques have a fairly new set of rules that govern them. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It is an advantage as you become capable of using these techniques in situations where you may not normally be able to because of an elemental weakness or some other occurrence.

Disadvantage of Method

As said above, the fact that these techniques don’t follow traditional suiton rules also comes as a disadvantage. Though you may be able to use these techniques in situations where you normally couldn’t at the same time you may become vulnerable in another situation where you weren’t previously with other water techniques. For example; you wouldn’t use an oil rain technique when your opponent is spewing a fire at you. Oil augments fire and even though it’s still “water release” it is a disadvantage.

lol, nice copy. :yeah:

The last method is called "Other". Basically, everything that isn't possible to be sorted in any of the previous groups falls in here. There's not really much to the method because the techniques vary and so do the advantages and disadvantages.

Now, we can start with the techniques. We'll do it this way. I will post the technique and I will in short explain how to perform it, strong points of the technique, possible uses and anything I find relevant and what I want from you is to give me your opinion on which method it belongs to and why. Then I'd like you to perform the technique and tell me how you could defend against the technique if it was used against you. You are free to use your imagination. This will give me a close insight on your understanding of the technique because if you're able to correctly defend against the technique, it means that you also know how it works. Understood?

(Suiton No Jutsu) - Water technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Damage Points:20
Description: Creates small waves of water, small blasts, and small shields of water.
Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.

The most basic water technique. It allows you to create various objects using your own chakra. They're mostly created from your own body, i.e. hands but you can also manipulate them from an already existing water source. It's an interesting technique because it can be used for all types and it is mid range thus it can be very helpful. However, due to it being so weak you will hardly have the chance to use it. Imagine that I release a small wave of water at you, how would you defend against it?

(Using chakra from body)Sensei fires Suiton No Jutsu at me... I will use a simple doton wall against it, to stop the water flow..

(Using a water source)Sensei fires Suiton No Jutsu at me... I will use a simple suiton wall against it, to stop the water flow..Or use a raiton tech on the water.

Is it correct Sensei?

This technique uses Water manipulation/ projectile method. As small water projectiles can be formed from one's own body by nature and shape manipulating the chakra or By using the available water source around by using chakra outside of the body.

Counter to Basic D rank water Tech like this because we Know earth is better than Water

(Dotton No Jutsu) - Eath release technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defense
Range: Short-Mid
Damage Points:20
Description: Creates small wall of Earth.

I now concentrate and mold my chakra and spit it out through the mouth. While doing so I use the nature manipulation to change it into water.

Yes, that is true. You could create a small wall of earth to redirect the wave of water and keep yourself safe. Very good.

(Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

I'm sure you already saw this jutsu. It's a very nice jutsu and I love using it, however you have to be cautious. To perform the technique you release the mist from your mouth or you can once again perform it from a water source. The mist is thick enough to block both your and your opponents vision so you have to be careful and have another sense to rely on. It's very useful against sharingan and rinnegan because they can't distinguish your chakra but once again, if you can't see them you gain nothing from it. It's very good for setting up large scale attacks as well as swift assassinations.

The Hiding in Mist Technique is a specialty of the ninja from Kirigakure, where one causes a mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth.

I form the tiger seal and concentrate to mold my chakra. Once i think its ready I use nature manipulation and release the jutsu through my mouth creating a thick mist around me and my surroundings ..

Sensei I have a question.. Data book says it requires only Tiger seal to perform the jutsu, but recently on the anime I saw Mei performing the jutsu using, Ox -> Snake -> Sheep. Which one is Correct ?

As we already covered the handseals and you should know by now, they are used to mold chakra easier. The more chakra a jutsu needs the more handseals it will need too. So, if someone performs more handseals for a jutsu then it means that he should theoretically be able to perform it quicker because he can faster mold the chakra. However, this also depends on the users ability to innately mold chakra (without the handseals) so if you have excellent chakra molding control then you need less handseals. Now, I'm not sure why exactly Mei needed three handseals since she's considered a quite advanced user but it was probably for a stronger and more resilient version; to cover a much larger area for example. However, going by the description on NB this is a fairly easy jutsu to perform thus no need for handseals. If they're not stated, then you don't need them.

(Suiton: Mizu Kuri No Yaiba) - Water Style: Sword of Draining
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

As mentioned already, this technique doesn't require a water source, which means that you create it using your own chakra. You expel it through your chakra points in your hand and you shape manipulate it into a sword. The sword it more or less like any other blade but it's made of water. Once you form the sword you compress it, etc to make it solid and have all the other properties of a regular sword. What's interesting with this technique is that it can be a life saver in close battles or if the opponent knocks the real weapon out of your hand. It's fairly easy to create and you could even make it as an extension of your arm in case the opponent tries to avoid your initial punch. This would give you some extra distance and be like a follow up attack.

Without the need of a water source, the user begins to build up his chakra & incredibly focuses into manipulating it. With sheer effort, the user starts to mold his chakra into water itself. He then channels it through his right arm into his palm. Within seconds, he releases the water he created into his hand & transforms it into a water sword with a razor-sharp edges.

Where's the rest? I thought we agreed that you also explain which method it belongs to and why do you think so. You're also supposed to come up with a viable counter to the technique. Other than that, yes you performed it very well. Good nature manipulation as well as shape manipulation.

(Suiton: Mizu Kuri No Yaiba) - Water Style: Sword of Draining
Type: Offensive, NinKenjutsu
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20

Category

Offensive, NinKenjutsu because the user is using a sword made of ninjutsu...

Advantages

1. This technique allows the user to manipulate water into the form of a sword. This sword is also shown to be very resilient as it is able to withstand and cut through most Fire Release techniques.
2. Since it's made out of water, and if you are a skilled suiton user, it has the same effect as a real sword and could be very helpful in fights.
3. You can use the sword as a weapon.

Disadvantages

1. You can't combine this technique with other techniques.
2. You can only use this technique for Short-range fights.
3. By holding it, you lose one hand to use hand signs.

Counter Strategies

Any D rank Earth jutsu, Or Ration Eiso

Performing the Tech

Without the need of a water source, the user begins to build up his chakra & incredibly focuses into manipulating it. With sheer effort, the user starts to mold his chakra into water itself. He then channels it through his right arm into his palm. Within seconds, he releases the water he created into his hand & transforms it into a water sword with a razor-sharp edges.

Alright, better. Please keep using that template for your replies, I like it. :)

Excellent observation of the advantages and disadvantages. You pointed out the most important features, very good. True but I wouldn't be so sure about every D rank earth jutsu. Double suicide works by you being underground after you've already used another technique to go down. However, the other 3 techniques are pretty good as a counter against the sword. And about Raiton Eiso, I suppose you mean Chidori Eiso. I don't see why you would use such a strong technique, but I guess it could work very well.

( Suiton: Junsai no Jutsu ) - Water Release: Water Shield Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will manipulate their water chakra and releasing it from their arm which is held outwards infront of them and they then create a shield of water that can aide in defence against projectile weapons and close combat techniques.

A very simple water construct. You hold your arm outwards and you release your chakra forming a shield that protects you. It's very simple and very basic thus a very effective defense against fire techniques as well as weak projectiles. Since it's a defensive technique you don't need to defend from it but I'd like to hear your opinion on how to overpower it and damage the user when he has the shield active.

Defensive Ninjutsu

Advantages

An advantage of this jutsu is that it can block any close combat move & ninja tools. Another advantage is that I can use this jutsu and the water sword technique so I can have something to attack and defend with with. Also, this jutsu requires no hand seals nor a water source.

Disadvantages

A disadvantage is that you only have one hand available to use and it will be impossible to use jutsu that requires hand seals.

Counter Strategies

Any D rank Offensive Earth jutsu,

Performing the Tech

I notice the opponent running towards me to land a kick at my abdomen. In a quick response, I swiftly stick my right arm upwards and begins to channel chakra into it. Then I mold my chakra and convert it into water. Seconds before my opponent lands with the kick on me, I releases the water chakra outwards you add nature manipulation and form it into dense water, finally with the use of shape manipulation you shape it into a shield of dense water. My opponents kick gets caught in the water pressure, thus crushing his leg in the process.
