A Japanese broadcaster and Toei Animation are readying the first new episodes of the Dragon Ball anime franchise for 18 years.
Dragon Ball Super is set to debut in Japan on Fuji Television in July and follows the release of feature film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ this month.
The new series has been overseen by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, and sees the return of characters such as Goku and Majin Buu.
“Akira Toriyama has developed a plot that is not only a dream come true for Dragon Ball’s millions of fans but one that will foster a new generation of viewers,” said Osamu Nozaki, producer for Fuji Television.
