Rinnegan doesn't control neither them nor the previous 6 paths, it was chakra rods which was controlling them, and when kabuto loses control of any of edo-tensi summons, it turns to ash.

it does that is why u can see Rinnegan/sharingan eyes on the 6 paths .
nagato used the riningan to controll the 2 ninjas so that itachi and kisame could fight through them

the sharingan could control ppl why the rinnegan cant

hmm personaly my thought is that kabuto edo tenseid them to life but tobi overide his control of them with his rinnengan but i believe kabuto can pull d plug on the paths when he likes

The chakra rods only made it possible for them to be controlled from a large distance. The rinnegan itself controls the paths. Madara is simply maintaning a close enough distance that he can control them.
