Btw Bogard do not kid yourself about kakashi. He was being pushed to the wall and could barely keep up.
Also if you havent noticed the reason why itachi used ms on him is because genjutsu derived from the 3 tomoe sharingan as its been said doesn't work on somebody with the same eyes.

But the question you must ask yourself is why was he pushed in the corner? Kurenai was more like a burden than everything else tbh. Had he not pushed himself to go and save her, he would not have received the explosion that put him in that state. He may have been surprised by Itachi's handseals speed, but yet managed to fool him with a water clone

He didn't, but from the manga we saw he only used tsukyomi to show kakashi the true power of an uchiha.. he just about almost killed kurenai with a silly explosive clone, asuma didn't notice it either so he would have died as well.. kakashi took damage from the explosion/saving kurenai.. they were getting destroyed and kakashi said "he isn't even serious yet"

Haha havent seen one of these threads make it to hottest in a long time. I think youre under-estimating Itachi drastically but i do agree over all that the fourth is a more dangerous shinobi. As far as them battling it seems to come down to Minato's ability to teleport inside susano'o or not.

You claim Kakashi became jounin at 13, which is true.... But Itachi was Anbu captain at 13, a rank also known as Special jounin. So Itachi's rank progresson is more impressive than Kakashi's.

Also take into account the possibily of things being rushed in the time of war.
We saw how Minato, Obito, rin and Kakashi had to be split, they had to be all over the place due to inadequate number of force on the battlefield.

Kakashi was assigned captain perhaps because Minato was needed somewhere else.

By no means am i saying that Kakashi isnt fit for the job, but the standards could be lowered due to the hazarduous situation.

I m one of the ambassadors to think that Minato is arguably un-defeatable character but IMO Itachi's the only one who has the hottest chance to take down Minato...

Itachi was a anbu squad captain at 13 but Kakashi was definitely a Jonin at 13, him being captain is questionable and I agree with you there...

And would you believe me if i told you that the whole time the person kakashi was talking to was a bunshin.
Fact is he later acknowledged that the mofo was slacking and still trolling them, when he talked about his accomplished in anbu but later stated himself that he hasn't shown any of his true power's.

If you didn't notice he has used sharingan genjutsu on, bee, deidora, oro, etc.
Dont think part 1 kakashi is greater than oro or bee, but rather he has the sharingan therefore a sharingan genjutsu would be more or less useless. Even though a person with the sharingan can resist the ms abit he still succumb to it.

Moral of the story outside sharingan user's he will resort to the 3 tomoe sharingan genjutsu which is enough.
Within sharingan user's its a different ball game

Thats not the point, never said he cannot. He can get a sharingan user in a genjutsu however it would be more or less pointless because of the abilities of the sharingan. You aren't overcoming a sharingan user with a seal based genjutsu or as the manga states another person who wields the same eyes.
