  • Defend the town from bandits

Koby strode directly to the guard post at the front gate, addressing them calmly and informing them of the incoming attack. He understood they would be hesitant to believe the word of a complete stranger, however through his Byakugan, he could see the small force of bandits still on the approach, and he was adamant to stop them before causing a commotion. After a little convincing, the guards split off to inform the rest of the on-duty roster, while Koby explained that he would go out and deal with them, while they get prepared.

Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15 (+5 per turn to keep active)
Damage: N/A
Description: The kekkei genkai intrinsic to both the Hyūga and Ōtsutsuki clans—descendants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Those who possess this dōjutsu have it manifested as eyes with featureless white irides and no visible pupils. And when activated, the pupils become more distinct and the veins near their temples bulge. To activate the dōjutsu, Hyuga but not Ōtsutsuki clan members are initially obliged to use a rather long and specific sequence of handseals: Horse → Tiger → Boar → Hare → Rat → Dog → Horse → Dog → Hare → Rat → Boar → Snake. But once activated, the dōjutsu user is endowed with a range of skills.

To start, an activated Byakugan gives the user a near 360º diameter field of vision bar one blind spot at the back of the neck, above the first thoracic vertebra. Its vision can penetrate through any solid objects or obstructions, and likewise remains unaffected by blinding interferences. But that being said, certain barriers and the like may distort its perception. In addition, it is able to follow high-speed movements, which enables those with this dōjutsu to analyze their foes' actions and better react to them. The Byakugan is also able to see chakra to a higher degree than the Sharingan and ergo, identify where a person's chakra signature originates from. Beyond that, it can discern certain types of clones from the real person. And its ability to see chakra is in fact so acute that those who possess this dōjutsu are even able to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that comprise it. The Hyūga clan has gone so far as to develop their unique Gentle Fist style in order to capitalize on this particular ability.

Note: Hyuga clan bios of at least Jonin rank become able to passively activate their dōjutsu upon one month having passed since Gentle Fist training concluded. Ōtsutsuki bios never need to expend a move in order to activate it.
Note: While traversing the NW, bios with activated Byakugan are able to see up to two 2 adjacent landmarks away while those of sage rank can see as far as three away, but this doesn't extend beyond an ocean landmark.

Striding out of the gate and facing west, he moved with a calm that he would not of had in the past. These people didn't deserve their celebration to be ruined, they were innocent and he was not about to allow them to experience any suffering on this night. Standing alone on the wind swept field, his coat billowing in the breeze, he inhaled sharply and called out in a loud voice, cracking slightly as he spoke.

"Please, stop this! Consider this for a moment. There are families here, children. People are celebrating, they’re happy. Don’t do this. I'm begging you, walk away. There's no need for anyone to get hurt."

Koby stood rigidly, praying that the bandits would have some form of common sense and leave willingly. His hopes were dashed however when the presence of someone new, someone strong appeared within his vision. He could see the bandits were nervous, they were scared of this person. And with a single command from this imposing figure, the bandits yelled, and bounded forward toward Koby.

The first bandit raised a weapon high as he charged forward. Koby maneuvered to the left of the downward swing, his hand striking the wrist of the man, his weapon flying from his grip. Following up, he strikes with his palm decisively into the chest of the man, sending him flying backward into two more oncoming bandits. From his side, two more bandits rushed him. While lowering his body and twisting, he would sweep their legs with his own, toppling them to the ground. From his low position, he would then launch himself away from the 5 grounded bandits, gaining at least 10 meters distance.

From behind him, he saw another bandit charge, this one much larger then the others, the ground almost shaking with each step he took. As he came down into a straight punch, Koby would tilt his body enough to avoid the blow, grabbing the wrist of his foe and twisting his body. Using the momentum of the bandit, he would use some fancy footwork to make the large man trip and hit the ground hard as he tossed him cleanly over his shoulder, slamming him into the dirt. From this position, he would push himself into a handstand, pushing off the ground as two bandits swung blades, cutting the air where Koby was just before. From his aerial position, he would kick the two of them in the heads with his feet, before rolling on his shoulder to a three point landing position.

As he viewed the field from his position, he could see the other bandits begin to halt and hesitate, after witnessing the martial display.

"You can stop this now! No-one else has to be hurt."

He was hoping the bandits would see the error in their actions, take a hint and leave for good. But that figure in the back, obviously the one in charge, commanded a presence like no other. With a single glance, he rallied the rest of the bandits, urging them to charge without any caution. As the ground trembled beneath the stampede Koby would make a definitive decision. Gathering his chakra, he would perform a series of handsigns before slamming his hands on the ground, releasing the gathered chakra into the earth and underneath the bandits.

Type: Supplementary
Rank: A - Forbidden (A)
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 30 - 50 (30)
Damage: N/A
Description: The user will first perform Boar → Tiger and then by changing the surface of an object beneath an enemy into mud and creating a non flammable swamp, the user can sink his enemy into the mud. The adhesive, chakra-infused mud ensnares the enemy's body, making it almost impossible to recover one's strength and escape from the swamp. The size and depth of the created swamp depends on the user's skill and the amount of chakra used, but if the user is an expert in this technique, it will always be possible to make a thick, newer impossible to move in swamp which is extremely effective against a great number of enemies or when having to face gigantic creatures.
Note: A rank use can extend up to mid range and will cause a target to become engulfed after one turn and suffocate after taking 60 damage per turn.
Note: S rank use can only be used by Primary Earth Specialists and can extend up to a single landmark in range and will cause a target to become engulfed and suffocate after one turn, taking 80 damage per turn.
Note: Forbidden ranked use can only be used by Jiraiya and Komi bios. It can only be used 2 times and is causing targets engulfed to suffocate in a single turn and can be up to 100 meters deep and wide and/or up to two landmarks. After ending, the user cannot use for 2 turns.

The ground crumbled and bubbled as tar like liquid burst out the ground, forcing the running bandits to falter and trip into the shallow quagmire. The pit only deep enough to restrain and capture the bandits. All except the one in back, who had avoided the earth jutsu with an expertise that screamed 'This is nothing'. This man, was a ninja, a shinobi like himself. With the rest of the bandits safely restrained. Koby would start moving around the edge of his jutsu, the opposing ninja mirroring his movements.

"You're an interesting one ya know!" The enemy ninja called out to Koby "It would have been so much easier for yourself if you had just minded your own business!"

"Some of us would rather see the good in the world, and protect the ones who cannot protect themselves!" Koby called out with a slight shake in his voice. This man made his nervous.

"Ya know, something that is bothering me. That Byakugan of yours. Most would assume that makes you a member of the Hyuga clan, but you don't fight like a Hyuga. And that pisses me off!"

Koby watched at the opposing ninja took a stance, a familiar one. Poised readiness, not aggression. Their legs were placed just shy of shoulder-width, knees slightly bent, and weight perfectly balanced for instant movement. The arms are held loosely in front of the body, forearms parallel to the ground. Their hands are open, with palms facing forward, fingers extended but relaxed.

With a calm, almost haunting voice. The opposing ninja said a single word. "Byakugan!"

  • Fight someone of comparable strength.

”Y-you’re a Hyuga?”

Koby uttered in disbelief, he was flabbergasted. What was a member of the renowned Hyuga clan doing, as the leader of a bunch of bandits. Questions for later he supposed. Right now, he needed to focus.

”We really don’t have to do this, surely there must be some way to negotiate or talk this out?”

Koby was feeling desperate, through his own Byakugan, he could tell how formidable his foe was. And him being a proper member of the Hyuga, his prowess with the clan’s own Kekkei Genkai would make him an even tougher opponent.

”Talk it out? Why would we talk it out?!”

The Hyuga called out as he dashed forward, his speed equivalent to Koby’s own, raising his palms and attempting to strike him with multiple palm strikes. Each attempt was aimed, not at his chakra points, but his internal organs and joints. He was attempting to weaken him, to disrupt his ability to maneuver and dodge.

Admit it! That Byakugan of yours. It's stolen isn’t it! You killed a member of my clan, stole his eyes and now are trying to play hero.”

The accusation took Koby by surprise, almost enough to distract him from the incoming barrage. As the first palm raced towards his shoulder, Koby moved his body into a defensive stance, using the momentum of his body to raise his hand up and deflect the fist palm upward. With the same movement, his other hand would come down on the second palm strike, redirecting it down. They repeated this back and forth barrage of strikes and deflects. Each not letting the other gain any advantage.

”Please, believe me that I did not steal these eyes! Let’s stop this and talk!”

Koby winced as he felt a sharp pain glance across the side of his forearm. His opponent hadn't been using his full speed before. He was faster and the strikes were starting to get through his defenses.

”W-what?!”

Koby could see the palm edging toward his abdomen, too fast for him to react too. He started to tilt his body, not enough to avoid it, but enough to lessen the impact. With a force filled shove, the palm struck him and sent him stumbling backward a few meters. But he didn’t have enough time to gather his thoughts, as his opponent was coming in for another attack.

”Talk, talk and talk. That's all you want to do! Try and convince me, to gaslight me from the truth, you sanctimonious sack of shit!”

His palms changed into the signature pointed fingers. Koby could see he was now aiming to maim his chakra network. As his opponent came within range, Koby would perform a back handspring, aiming his foot to kick the incoming strike while gaining some distance. His body was already aching in pain, his lungs threatening to restrict his breathing.

His opponent wasn’t giving in, and continued forward in his assault, Koby on the back end of his handspring would grab dirt and fling it at the eyes of the angry Hyuga. He knew it wouldn't be enough to debilitate his visual prowess, but it would afford him a single moment to strike back. As his foe casually deflected the incoming debris, Koby was already positioned in close proximity and performed his own palm strike, shoving the Hyuga back several meters and knocking some wind out of him.

”If you would just stop and listen to me, you would understand that I…”

He wasn’t able to finish his sentence, as a force of chakra slammed into his body sending him flying, blood spraying as he was stuck with what he knew to be the Hyuga style Vacuum Fist. As he struggled to get up, he saw in his hazy vision the anger of his opponent.

”You think I will let you get away with this? I’m going to kill you and take back those eyes.”

He walked over to Koby, who was struggling to get up from his prone position, blood dripping from his mouth as he coughed and wheezed. He felt the hand of the Hyuga grip the back of his collar and lift him up, he arms felt heavy as the dangled, his head barely being held up.

”I-I told you...I didn’t steal these eyes, they’re mine.”
He felt the grip tighten as the Hyuga punches Koby in the gut, making his body scream with pain.

”And I told you, you cannot trick me. You should learn to listen more. I suppose you will have to since you won’t be able to see.”

Time seemed to slow for Koby. He watched as his opponent’s hand started to move in the direction of his face, intent on plucking his eyes out. He hated this feeling that was building and burning inside him, burning hotter than any of the pain his body was screaming into him. He was angry, this entire situation could have ended peacefully, but he guessed some people don’t want to listen. So, just this once, he would force him to be heard. His eyes shifted, warranting a slight hesitation from the Hyuga, as his eyes morphed and evolved into their elevated state.

The Hyuga, shocked by the unusual chakra movement, froze for a split second. That hesitation was more then enough time for Koby to release a small directionless burst, of pure gravitational thrust, forcing the hyuga away from him and causing him to crash down meters away. Koby rose off the ground, using the flight technique of his clan, the technique he showed most pride in, the Hyuga watching in utter disbelief at the spectacle.

”Y-you’re Otsutsuki?! Please, spare me! W-we can talk about this!”

Koby looked down on the trembling man, his eyes not displaying anger or malice, but judgement. Cold, disappointing judgement.

”Many times, I told you that we could talk about this. That these eyes belonged to me and did you even take a second to listen to me? No. And now, here we are.”

Koby flew forward, slowly until he was right in the Hyuga’s face; he could feel the vibrations as the man's trembling breath escaped his lungs.

”Now, here is what is going to happen. I am going to punch you. Hard. Then, you are going to get up, gather all your lackeys from that pit. And you are going to leave, and then if you ever come back, or if i find out a bandit hyuga is terrorising anyone else. I'll find you. You of all people should know how far my eyes can see.”

Without a moment's hesitation, Koby pulled his fist back, pain echoing through his muscles, and threw a punch directly into the Hyuga’s face. The impact echoed across the field as the man went flying and crashed down hard into the dirt, bouncing like a skipping stone, until he came to a rest 10 meters from Koby.

He watched the man lay there, silently panicking if he had struck him too hard, even though he could see through his Tenseigan that the man was still breathing. He watched him, slowly get to his feet, hobble over to the edge of the swamp and painstakingly attempt to retrieve his men, before giving up and staggering away alone. His men called after him in fear, not wanting to be left alone.

”How can he be that cruel.”

Koby slowly lowered himself to the ground, hearing the footsteps of lightly armored men running up to him, calling out if he was alright. The guardsman had watched him defend them, and he was bombarded with questions and gratitude. Koby, feeling embarrassed by the attention, sheepishly hunched over as he informed them needed details about the Hyuga, and the bandits that were sobbing in the tar. Koby would deactivate and destabilize the tar allowing for the guardsman to arrest the bandits, before he would fall back and pass out. Exhausted by the day.

Ragyo would find herself waking up to another non-important day. She urged her assistant, Fitzgerald, to make her some tea. They lived in a small hut in Nendo Haven. A quiet, simple life as their previous life got uprooted by the last few small wars. However, if she had to retire, this would be the place. They sought refuge her intentionally as it was full of tropical, lush forests and beaches. Very easy to survive as well as the threat level being close to zero as the major wars were being held elsewhere. But she had no real income, residuals or investments. So, she had to build it up from the ground up yet again. But being the headstrong individual she was, she had no problem with this... She needed a fresh start anyway...

Her assistant, which was her only "friend" left gave her the freshly made tea. He was the only one who didn't die during the cataclysmic events a while back. "Thank you, Fitzgerald." she said before promptly taking a sip of the scolding hot liquid. She didn't seem to mind. As if she was used to it.

Starting mission: Custom (D) - Catch a fish for supper

She went outside of her hut that was located directly on a beach and stretched. She grabbed a nearby homemade fishing pole she made and walked about 1ft deep into the water. She then cast out her reel, waiting for a bite.

After several minutes have passed, she finally got a bite and started to reel it in. However, it was by hand as she had no means of making the more advanced reels that the people in the city use. So she started pulling the wire, left hand right hand left hand right hand. "Almost!.." she said. As she went to bend down and grab the fish, the line had snapped and she was unable to catch it by hand. So she had to think fast...

She jumped into the water and while jumping, she swung down her hand in a sharp chopping-way, clocking the fish on the head before it got too far, killing it. This showed her instinct and reaction time was still spot on... She grabbed the fish and walked back to the hut, opening the door to find Fitzgerald there, waiting in case she found herself in a predicament. "Lunch." she said with a smile as she walked over to the water fountain to clean it. Fitzgerald smiled as he was absolutely starving.

Starting mission: Custom (D) - Cook the fish you caught for supper

Ragyo walked up to the indoor fire pit and sparked it, using a simple fire release technique.

(Katon no Jutsu) - Fire Release Technique
Type: Offensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: The user will release a small but powerful flame of fire at their opponent from either their limbs (through movement) or exhaling it. It can produce fire balls or fire streams or simply aid in taijutsu.

She gathered some spices. Some turmeric, garlic, onion, just a liiiiil bit of ginger, red chilies, scallions and a little bit of brown sugar. She grabbed a pan out of the cabinet and took the fish from the fridge. She coated her pan with a little butter and threw that bad boy in there once it got hot. "Damn... Forgot to score it..." she said. While it was in the pan, she carefully cut some X like shapes deep into the fish and sprinkled the mix of spices carefully over the fish and let it sink into the cuts she just made.

"Oh... The aroma..." Fitzgerald said. "Yes indeed." Ragyo replied. They both smiled towards each other, waiting to devour a lovely meal. The aroma went out the vents and chimney in the hut that they lived in and filled the area with amazing-smelling aroma. She carefully flipped the fish by its fin or tail with her bare hand. Island style. It sizzled as she flipped it, revealing a browned skin and tender, flaky white meat. After a few minutes of cooking, she took it out of the pot and put it on a plate. She then poured water in the pan with a little bit of flour and stirred to make a slightly thick, but not too thick, broth/soup. As it soaked up the seasoning, she poured it over the fishes scored parts, further crisping the exposed inside while still keeping it nice and tender being that.

She went to go sit at the table, with Fitzgerald pulling out a chair for her, as she served them both and Fitzgerald sat down to eat with her. They ate with their hands. For the culture... To further discuss their plans in this new world of theirs.

Starting mission: Custom (C) - Harmonize your two known elements

After supper, Ragyo went back outside in the perfect weather. Fitzgerald following close behind. Firstly, she sat down and crossed her legs amongst one another and then cupped her hands on top of each other, and patiently breathed in and out with closed eyes. She was normally not this calm but at the end of the day, she was a leader and understood what it took to step up in this ninja world.

She wanted to be able to harmonize her yin and yang side perfectly. But she wasn't even close to that... For now, she would learn to perfectly harmonize her earth and fire chakra. Synergize back and forth between the two. Her breathing was like a dragon. Fire. Her body was like stone. Earth. She was already half way there. Eventually, after about an intense hour of meditation, she finally opened her eyes and looked at Fitgerald. He didn't move a muscle while she was doing what she had to do. He nodded to her, letting her know she was ready. She hopped up in one motion, landing on both feet effortlessly. She focused her doton chakra into the ground and expelled numerous pillars of earh.

Doton no Jutsu) - Earth Release Technique x3
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Descripton: Creates small pillars of earth, small tools, and small shields of earth

*POP* *POP* *POP*

They popped up like popcorn, ready for the next step. In a smooth transition, she inhaled then exhaled three balls of fire from her mouth, hitting all three pillars of earth.

(Katon: Ryu Kaen Bakufuu) - Fire Release: Dragon Flame Blitz
Type: Offensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: The user inhales and then exhales, shooting small balls of fire at the opponent.

After this, she jumped into the air and held her hand out, targeting the far left pillar and focusing katon chakra around it in which fire rings would appear around it and eventually constrict and scorch it.

(Katon: Honoo no Saigai Hi Kagayaku no Jutsu) - Fire Release: Flame of Disaster Fire Shine Technique
Type: Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 15
Damage: 30
Description: The user releases a flame of fire chakra that converges on the opponent wrapping around them and burning them.

As she landed, her last hurrah was towards the pillar on the right. Focusing her chakra into the ground below it, she terraformed the ground below into mud. This would have caused the pillar to sink into the mud and get carried away into the nearby beach waters the hut was near. As she landed, she stared into the distance, watching the pillar get carried away as she hugged and puffed as she exerted a lot of effort into the technique.

(Doton: Doryū Taiga) - Earth Release: Earth Flow River
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: After forming the needed hand seal (Tiger), the user transforms the ground underneath their opponent into a river of mud that throws them off balance and carries them away from the user. The mud created by this technique can also be used as a medium for the Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet technique.

"Definitely still Academy Student." she said to herself. "But getting better..." Fitgerald replied. They locked eyes with each other, understanding that even though she had a ways to go, she was making progress. And that's what matters on their way to control over one of these landmarks for her future business.

After her little elemental extravaganza, Ragyo looked at Fitzgerald and used her pointer finger to draw him in. A "come get some" gesture. She had to practice on her taijutsu too... It was almost non-existent, so freeform taijutsu it was... Fitzgerald, of course, obliged and stepped into the sand where Ragyo was practicing... They both needed this.

Starting mission: Custom (C) -Spar until exhaustion with a sparring partner

Fitzgerald lunch a straight jab at Ragyo and to both their surprise, it landed. However, while he was still following through with the punch, as much pain as she was in, she grabbed his wrist with her right hand and shot her left palm upwards under the elbow of the restrained arm, effectively breaking it.

She then used his wrist to pull him in, using the pulling momentum to also spin and deliver a devastating kick to his ribs. But Fitzgerald checked it by lifting his leg up and pointing his shin outwards, effectively making her shin clash with his which would turn out to fracture her shin making it hard to walk...

"****!.." she shouted. Fitzgerald forced a smile, since he was also in pain but amused the amount of damage they had already done to each other. "Heheheh... Seems I've gotten the best of you. However, we're not done yet..." he said as he spun around, using his good arm to throw a vicious elbow, slicing from left to right, aiming to take Ragyo's jaw off. In response, Ragyo did a perfect split, ducking and punching Fitzgerald in his nardles, making him double over in pain. She then, in a smooth motion while still in split formation, she took both arms in front of her and planted them on the ground while sliding her legs into a planking position before ultimately bending all the way forward, legs above her head, delivering a crescent kick with her heel upon the back of Fitzgerald's head. This would allow her to land back on both feet although in an unstable way as one of her shins were blown out.

Fitzgerald face planted and didn't seem to move afterwards... "Fitz?.. Fitz?!" Ragyo exclaimed, worried as she ran up to Fitzgerald who was a few feet away due to the power of her kick. She bent down to check on him as he jolted his head up, and hit her in the chin with the back of his head... Making her stumble back and eventually fall on her back. "Never... Let your guard down, Ragyo..." he said. Funnily enough, he was indeed knocked out from the crescent kick but woke up on time and became aware of his surroundings enough to deliver the vicious headbutt as a lesson. "Bastard!.." she said, feeling betrayed. But she knew he was right. She should NEVER let guard down out here. She will get eaten alive if so...

Ragyo got up and started to rush at the disabled Fitz with a harsh limp from her shin but barely slowing her but before she made it to him he raised his hand in a "stop" like manner. She then stopped right in her tracks. "That's enough." he said. "I forfeit. That is enough for the day... We need not go too far as we need to heal from this little... Training session and have more to accomplish by tomorrow." he said confidently and logically. Ragyo nodded and brushed the dirt off of her ragged clothing. "Hmph." she said while she walked up to him and offered him a hand to lift him up. She helped him up and he helped her to limp to the hut. However, after making it an astounding three feet, they both collapsed face first into the sand, completely exhausted from the encounter. But what a hell of a training session.

Done.
