Her being a masochist does not surprise me at all <_<
Standing across from his sensei, Souji looked like his typical self: his grey eyes reflected his cool, calm, and relaxed demeanor. A typical protagonist type.
Suddenly, a wave of pain shot through the young man as he tensed up. He clutched his temples as the Keigoku manifested as an unstable aura around his body. The aura would branch out, taking form as another Souji, only this one was semi-tangible, having a cloudy characteristic about him. They were the same physically, but this "Shadow" had bright yellow eyes and looked disheveled. The two were connected by tethers of Keigoku.
"Who... who are you?" Souji asked.
"... what? You don't recognize me? I'm you!" the Shadow replied, his voice having a distinct echo and harsher tone.
"No... you must just be an illusion... a side-effect of connecting with my Keigoku-"
The Shadow waved a hand as a sign of intimidation, shutting Souji up. The Shadow turned to face their sensei and spoke casually.
"This guy and I are two halves to a whole. I'm the dark side, he's the light side. Neither of us is completely right, but neither of us is completely wrong either. I've been suppressed over the years. I represent our desires, ambitions, our sins, and our flaws. Of course, that's all relative too... you can consider HIS characteristics... compassion, generosity, etc. etc. as flaws too, but I won't be bored by philosophical discussion."
"So... you might see either of us pop in and out! The Keigoku exposure has allowed me to be in equal amounts of control as our usual self. We constantly wrestle for dominance, leading to some... funny results. We're almost irreconcilable, but I think when we work together, we'll be unstoppable!" he laughed, disappearing.
Souji turned back to sensei, looking conflicted.
"Everyone has good and bad qualities. We intersect, and we are separate; our values, ideas, perspectives, actions. The Keigoku breaks down mental blocks that I'd placed around -that- part of my psyche. So apologies if I seem... erratic, sensei. But I think, in conclusion, that's how I'm connected to Keigoku. It brings out the best and worst of me... at the same time."
