Neji vs Sasuke

In my own opinion, Neji can evade nearly every attack from Sasuke.

With Byakugan activated he is able to sense chakra pressure within Sasuke's body, meaning he can tell when he is about to shoot arrows, use Tsukuyomi or even Amaterasu, Neji is fast enough so he can dodge it.

Susanoo:

Even though Susanoo is pure defense and stuff, Byakugan is said to see "opening spots" and "blind spots" of opponents.
So even if Neji is distanced from Sasuke by the means of Susanoo, he can use Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm and Byakugan to get an opening, IF Neji can touch Sasuke with the jutsu on his vital points, Sasuke's chakra flow I believe will be blocked. Meaning Susanoo will be deactivated, not that it only works with eyes, it feeds on the users chakra.

Amaterasu:

Like I said, Byakugan can sense chakra pressure, whenever Amaterasu is about to be used, Shinobi such as Nagato or Naruto can sense whenever Itachi is about to use Amaterasu, making the opponents well aware what is going to happen next.

Even if black flames comes close enough to Neji, he is able to counter with Palms Rotation or Gentle Fist Body Blow.

Also if Neji catches Sasuke with Gentle Fist, Sasuke is weak as a fiddle. Sasuke would never win Neji in taijutsu.

But even amongst all these possible ways Neji can dodge mostly all Sasuke's move. There is ONE big problem.


That is Character Development.

Neji is still the same moves and power as the beginning of Shippuden, therefore we cannot compare characters from different "era's".


But I still give Sasuke to advantage due to this issue, as Neji is potentially powerful.

I find this battle very interesting after viewing a few threads and how neji and his byakugan is actually a good counter against sasuke.


Semi - Long thread and for what I am stating it needs to be. If you read the title and don't agree leave now and do not post on this thread sasuke wins or anything like that without even reading what I said. I will report those posts as spam as I have just told you now not to do so now.


I am mostly making this thread for “good read” proposes so if you are bored and want a good read this is for you.

People have said people like kakashi and darui would struggle against EMS sasuke so how the hell can neji coup, but what people forget is neji is also a jounin like kakashi and darui and because of the hyuga's unique abilities as neji is an elite hyuga member he is actually a good match up for sasuke.

As a fan of the naruto series I would like to think that the only people who can stand up to Naruto KM and Sasuke EMS mode from Konoha 11 is Neji, Choji butterfly mode and Lee gates.

Naruto BM is when naruto reaches a whole other level and is when he can no longer be compared with them. The same will be applied if sasuke’s obtains the rinnegan.

If this battle was to happen in the show for whatever reason sasuke wins hands down because of plot no jutsu. Whether it be karin saving his ass or anyone else from taka sasuke would win.

But I am talking about a complete one on one situation with no one to heal, help or give sasuke a chakra boost. Here are my reasons why neji can defeat sasuke one on one but it would be extreme high difficulty

Let's start with the dangerous threats from sasuke:


Genjutsu:

Would be useless against neji in a one on one against sasuke despite common rule being to run on a one on one situation with an uchiha because of their genjutsus. There are two reason why genjutsu’s would be useless against neji:


1) Neji will not fall under a eye contact genjutsu when it is just him and sasuke


Basic top class shinobi knowledge do not look into the eyes of a sharingan user which means neji does not have to worry about this at all. In a group fight neji may be caught off guard (as seen with A against madara) but on a one on one it is just you and your opponent no distractions. Neji is not hot headed enough to lose his cool and forget this he is also a top class shinob, a jounin, a elite hyuga clan member he will not fall under a genjutsu which just evolves eye contact.


2) Sasuke’s genjutsu is nowhere near the level of itachi’s tsukuyomi


Let's say neji does fall under a genjutsu (highly highly unlikely neji is top class shinobi, a jounin from konoha which would know more about the sharingan then other villages list goes on for reason why he wouldn't on a one on one)
Hyuga have excellent chakra control they are the best candidates to break out of a genjutsu then any other shinobi along with jinjurki's. Lucky for neji sasuke's genjutsu is nothing compared to itachi's tsukuyomi which means neji with his excellent chakra control can break out of it. (My main reason is he want get caught in one)


So I am going to state in a one on one neji will most likely not fall under a genjutsu and if he does he can break out of it. (If this was itachi's no chance neji is done for but once again I don't think he would get into one he is not hot headed and uses his brain)

Neji with his byakugan can see all chakra points in the body as well as chakra itself. When a shinobi is going to perform a jutsu the byakugan can see the chakra build up. This means that neji out of anyone else would be able to prepare better for amaterasu. Even better then when A was fast enough to dodge amaterasu by seeing it when it was released from sasuke's eye.


Now that neji knows amaterasu is coming neji can do a number of things to counter it:


1)Heavenly rotation: Elite hyuga members can preform heavenly rotation this will protect neji from amaterasu flames as the flames will burn around the chakra and then disperse as the chakra disperses.


2)Gentle Fist Art One Blow Body: A weaker but quicker and easier to perform defence that will push the flames and anything around neji’s body away.


3)Dodge: As I stated he will know amaterasu is coming before any other shinobi would so he has more time to prepare for his counter, he does not have to be as fast as A or BM naruto as he gets the heads up earlier. Amaterasu was also dodged by sasuke running circles around itachi.


So that is 3 counters against amaterasu in the order that would be most effective and most likely for him to use as he knows amaterasu will be coming.



Susano:


This is neji’s only worry when fighting against sasuke but at the same time neji is also the best candidate to disable sasuke from using susano and I will tell you why.


Susano is the user powerful chakra being released and then being materialised. Neji has the ability to block chakra path ways in the body if neji blocks enough chakra path ways sasuke will not be able to form susano.

This solves the biggest problem with destroying a susano which is if it is destroyed the user can just re-activate susano if he has enough chakra. If neji get’s enough chakra points even if sasuke has enough chakra he will not be able to use it to form susano.


This is great but we all know the main problem is what is neji going to do when susano is active. Well this is the tough part.


Neji will have to be on the defence at this point in the battle but lucky for him sasuke cannot keep susano active forever. With his ultimate defence neji can deflect susano arrows and physical punches and sword attacks from sasuke’s susano. So neji will be defending blocking maybe even hiding but as this is a one on one sasuke cannot keep this active forever.


The only way neji can do enough damage on susano to create a direct opening to sasuke just as danzo did in his battle, is getting close to susano and delivering a direct hit from heavenly rotation. This will break susano enough for neji to have access to sasuke and once this path way is open all neji will have to do is get sasuke in a eight trigrams 64 palms. If he is successful susano will be disabled and will be for a while and sasuke cannot activate susano right away as his chakra flow and path ways will be blocked.


If Neji manages this then it becomes sasuke's kenjutsu and taijutsu vs neji taijutsu


This is the worst case sceniory for sasuke because if he cannot form susano and his chakra path ways are blocked it is basically sasuke’s kenjutsu and taijutsu with his sharingan perception vs neji taijutsu. This is where neji would own sasuke, every blow neji delivers will either block sasuke’s chakra path ways or damage sasuke’s internal organs.


So basically if neji can disables sasuke’s susano via blocking enough of his chakra path ways neji wins. Of course if this battle ever was to happen it would be much harder then I have stated which is why I say extremely high difficultly for neji. Sasuke would probably beat neji 7 times out of 10 but neji defeating sasuke is not impossible, as I have shown in this thread

Its very true when Neji just touch Sasuke with his Gentle Fist, Sasuke is a weakling, he cant use chakra therefore he cant use most of his techniques, so his its kenjutsu & taijutsu vs superior hyuuga taijutsu.

Neji has also shown the ability to view or find weak spots in a jutsu as seen when he released himself from Kisame's water prison. By injecting his chakra he disrupted the prisons stability and he was able to cancel the jutsu.

Now Neji could combine these strategies to beat susano'o. First observed fined the weak point (possibly the spine), then inject chakra/ cut through the chakra-based susano'o. Once Neji is through 8 trigrams 64 palms would end the fight.

Neji has also shown the ability to view or find weak spots in a jutsu as seen when he released himself from Kisame's water prison. By injecting his chakra he disrupted the prisons stability and he was able to cancel the jutsu.

Now Neji could combine these strategies to beat susano'o. First observed fine the weak point (possibly the spine), then inject chakra/ cut through the chakra-based susano'o. Once Neji is through 8 trigrams 64 palms would end the fight.

Its just a pity Neji isnt fully developed by Kishimoto, he could really give Uchiha a good beating lol

this is a prime example of not properly analyzing the the abilities of each character.

The reason i like this thread so much is that it looks at Neji vs Sasuke in a great way from both characters stand points. Everything that most people said in here was well said and good job

Amatersu neji has 3 ways to counter as I have stated in my post.

Susano arrow neji can deflect it with a full powered to rotation. It probably wouldn't deflect because it is so powerful it's path would be altered though.
