Such poor ninja skills...is this what I have to work with ? A shinobi must be vigilant at all times, ready to engage in battle whatever the occasion. Its not completely your fault though, that technique was a near-perfect form of invisibility, impossible to counter under the right circumstances. Depending on how you perceive these next few words will determine how strong of a shinobi you will become. Awareness is key. No matter how strong any opponent is, if he or she has no knowledge of your next attack, they're probably done for. Knowledge is power. Being wary at all times and having the necessary skills to perceive all types of offensives are essential to your survival. That is why Wind Release is such a dangerous tool. Harmless air currents can become invisible blades of wind. Cool breezes can become ravaging tornadoes in an instant. Other what you've just been told, what do you know of Fuuton ?

As Sinbad and Sominus wait for their Sensei Sominus gets an uncomfortable feeling. He notices a slight change in the air around him. As this is not his first training and already got to experience sudden surpirse attacks from his superiors he is quickly to react on the assumption of an incomming Futon Jutsu. He channels doton based chakra in the ground he and Sasuke are standing on. Performing 4 hand seals he lets pillars of rock raise around himself and his training partner. (Assuming this was at least a B-Rank Jutsu) The rocks get shred by the wind, the damage Sasuke and Sominus take is further reduced.

Futon is strong to Raiton and weak to Katon. It is most often used to cut or slice your opponent (or anything in the way) down. Of course exceptions like the Hurricane fist exist that are used to get away from dangerous sources/incomming Jutsu for example. Futon is often used to enhance other Jutsu, the most common uses would be to empower a Katon or Suiton technique. Futon is also part of several KG like Ice.

As Sinbad feels the ground beneath him raising, he quickly braces himself, as at that point he knew their was a threat. Upon landing, Sinbad acknowledges his partner.

"Glad I have you by my side, Sominus! And to you... Mr. I'm gonna cut up my students... I guess I'll answer your question. Wind is one of the 5 basic elemental transformations. To use wind, you make chakra as thin and sharp as possible. Wind is fast, and it is more free flowing than Suiton. It is very fast and quite unpredictable. It is generally used for short to mid range techniques. It is a very versatile element given its properties, and it mainly used for offensive attacks, but could also be good for evading enemy attacks. It can also stop attacks in their tracks depending on the attack. When compacted and concentrated, wind can make a powerful force that seems as if it is solid for heavy impacts. Wind can also be used to pull things towards us by using its power to create a vacuum. This can also suck away oxygen from the opponent for suffocation. The most prominent effect that comes from wind attacks is it's ability to slice through and cut things. Wind is generally generated by creating an air circulation, as we saw with the training that Jiraya gave Naruto for the Rasengan. On top of all of that, wind can also increase the potential cutting power and slashing damage and range of solid weapons by channeling the chakra to the blade.

It is strong against lightning due to it being a natural insulator. It is weak against fire because it simply fuels the flames. That being said, when used in unison with Fire, it can create a devastating attack such as a flaming tornando. When used with Water, it increases the overall force and power of it."

"Not bad, however there were quite a few inconsistencies in your description. I'll give you a run down of all of the basic elements (especially Fuuton), to flesh out your understanding. Make sure to commit this to memory, it will be useful knowledge for the future. Once you've read and understood the following, we will continue."

Wind Release is the element that allows us to create and manipulate wind. When you think of wind you think of something that is fast, free flowing, unpredictable, and strong. In the Narutoverse and in our RP, wind release has a variety of different properties which makes it versatile in its own right. For one, we have the ability to create long and short powerful gusts of flowing wind. Mainly these techniques that are designed to provide resistance against oncoming attacks, reversing the trajectory of weaponry, etc. We can also create short concentrated/compressed bursts of wind that give a pseudo solid form which can be used for blunt force or strong impacts. These would mainly be offensive in nature. There is also vacuum or suction power that can be generated, drawing objects in for close combat or sucking away the oxygen for suffocation. However, one of the more prominent abilities of wind release that we’ve come to know from the Narutoverse is the powerful cutting power that it possesses. Mainly from characters like Naruto, Asuma, and Sora, the wind nature has been shown to be able to slice and cut through things like butter. Wind is the movement of many gases in the air, though we’ve been shown to manipulate just the air itself and call it wind release by comparison due to the relationship. Lightning Release is the use of high frequency and is the most fleeting of all the elements. It arguably takes the most control due to its dangerous nature and the lethality it possess. The interaction of the molecules within it, further contribute to its level of instability, requiring the user to take much more care in handling this element compared to the others. Fundamentally, its the control over raw streams of electricity which can be tamed with the right control, it relates most to the Fire element due to its destruction if not contained or used properly and the high level of self-control someone requires to manipulate it correctly. One common misconception is that Lightning release travels as fast as natural lightning, when in reality Lightning is far slower than its naturally occurring counterpart due the user taking control of/taming the lightning. The element itself occurs in three main forms: Normal Lightning, Plasma and pale-blue pillars which emit electricity.

Water is the most calm and free-flowing elements. These characteristics dictate its nature, making it useful in combat due to the fluidity and intense lack of control that is required to utilize it. Lightning and Fire take extreme control, but manipulation of water takes calmer movements and so controlling it comes more naturally. While its the calmest element, it can also become one of the most destructive. Putting a large amount of force behind of wave gives it power that can't be paralleled by all the other elements. In terms of scale, Water has the highest potential to be the "best" element, a clear testament of this is Kisame of the Akatsuki. Water comes in three main forms: normal water, sticky water and oily flammable water.

Earth Release is often considered the element of sturdiness and durability. Unlike other elements which come and go with time, it is an ever eternal presence in the environment which endures all types of weather regardless of how harsh conditions become. Earth can be used as a shield or blockade defensively to dissipate the force of powerful waves of water or non-cutting gusts of wind. It can withstand great heats, acting as a heat sink but also as a physical barrier to prevent weapons passing through. Its strong against water, its natural ability to prevent water from passing through it whilst passing through water itself is a reason for this. However its weak against lightning. The lightning conducted along the earth causes it to break up, lose its natural composition and break down due to the penetrative abilities of Raiton. Doton can either be used in this solid rocky form or its adhesive mud-like variant, granting the element further versatility. As well as the conventional uses of the element, the mud variant can be used to bind opponents in place, clash with other elemental jutsus or be used in many effective combinations. The mud-variant is most commonly used along with Fire to form pseudo-lava (molten mud), making for a very dangerous substance. Along with Suiton, its versatility stems from the state of matter it naturally occurs in. Due to having physical substance, Doton can be shaped into various structures from defensive walls to jagged spikes, from an earth dragon to a single pillar of earth. Furthermore, in terms of terrain-based advantage, Doton can be used to manipulate the ground beneath and around the opponent, allowing for limitless potential in creating successful combos. I like to think of the element as the perfect balance between offensive, defensive and supplementary usage, as no confines exist on what the user can create.

Fire Release is the usage of superheated chakra to create flames and heat-intensive attacks. Its created through channeling Katon chakra to the user's lungs and exhaling the built chakra in various forms. Katon is most commonly used in its fire-based form, but it can also take the shape of a plume of superheated ash or a misty flammable gas. In terms of raw potential, its considered the least versatile element as it excels in offensive capabilities, lacks in supplementary usage and is ill-suited to use as a defensive element. Despite this, Katon is the most ferocious element to contend with due to its sheer raw power. The heat of the element makes it capable of reducing earthen structures to molten mud, the parasitic nature of it means it preys on the oxygen within wind-based attacks to supplement the flames and even against its elemental superior, large-scale Katon techniques are capable of reducing large bodies of water to scorching mist of dense steam. The Katon element has little usage outside of destruction, to a certain degree its the hardest elemental nature to tame due to its sporadic and uncontrollable nature.

Sominus listens carefully to what his Sensei has to say. This in detail description of Fuuton and it's multiple capabilities showed him, how little he knew of this versatile element. Also understanding that his colleague's knowledge of Fuuton seems to be superior to his own, Sominus's motivation becomes boosted massively. He reflects on everything he just heared thorough before he speaks.

Thank you for the insight, I think now I've got a good understanding of Fuuton in it's basics.

(Fūton: Fūsajin no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Dust Wind Technique
Type: Defence

Description: The user creates a gust of wind that layers an area in loose sand and dust. Doing so also acts as a sandblaster on the surrounding area. This layer of sand that accumulates on the trees during this technique makes it difficult for others to get a good footing. The initial gust can also temporarily blind opponents by lodging sand in their eyes

I want you to come over here and begin focusing your fuuton chakra into the air around you to generate a gust of wind. Utilize the gust of wind to gather loose particles of dirt, sand and dust, accumulating enough to create a dust cloud capable of blocking the vision of enemy shinobi. The dust from the cloud can also potentially blind the opponent by lodging pieces of debris in their eyes.

Key Points: Pay close attention to every jutsu's range. This jutsu is short-ranged and won't travel very far. As a reference point, here's what the actual measurements are.

Short Range - 0 to 5 meters away from you
Mid Range - 5 to 15 meters away from you
Long Range - 15+ meters away from you

(Fūton: Kaze Ogawa no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Wind Stream Technique

Description: This technique allows the user to change direction in mid-air at high speeds by simply blowing wind out their mouth. The user can also use this technique by blowing it at the ground and causing a dust cloud to rise, concealing the users location and movement.

After the dust cloud subsides, I want you to jump up into the air and begin exhaling a constant stream of wind which allows you to change direction and move around effectively whilst in mid-air. To display your mastery of this technique, after gaining aerial elevation, angle your head in such a way so to constantly move in an "O" shaped loop, demonstrating your ability to continuously change direction with this technique.

Key Points: Much like the last technique, this one allows you to generate a dust cloud if its blown towards the floor. However, the more important thing I'd like to mention about this technique is its one of the most useful lower ranking techniques in the rp, if not the most useful. People tend to use this as a straightforward push backwards, when in reality you can decide on so many different flight paths e.g. a "C" shaped flight path, an "O" shaped flight path and even an "S" shaped flight path. So make sure to be creative with this technique.

Also, some people tend to forget that you need to be in the air to use this technique. So either use it in mid-air or jump up and then use it.

I'm gonna pretend you have a clone for me to practice on ^_^

Sinbad focuses his chakra. He feels it flowing through his body. As it flows, he then channels it to his lungs. After, he releases his chakra through his mouth, and as it leaves his body, using Chakra control, he uses nature manipulation to give the basic chakra the properties and characteristics of the wind and change my chakra to Fūton. Releasing the Fūton, Sinbad pictures a huge wave, such as one in the ocean. He then uses another form of advanced chakra control. Using shape manipulation, he changes the shape of his shapeless chakra from his mouth into the form of a large wave of wind from a short range, aiming at the ground in front of your clone. As he does so, the dust and sand get picked up in the gust, creating a dusty sand wave of air, heading for your clone. It then gets to your clone, in and around the eyes, momentarily decreasing your vision.

As the dust subsides, Sinbad jumps up into the air. Quickly, he focuses his chakra and channels it to his mouth. After, he looks straight down. He then begins releasing his chakra, and he uses his chakra control to perform a nature transformation, transforming it from basic chakra to Futon, matching the characteristics and properties of wind. As he releases this wind from his mouth, he performs shape manipulation of the Futon chakra, forming a thin yet powerful stream of air. This stream of wind coming from his mouth pushes him straight up to send him higher into the air. Once high enough, Sinbad then tilts his head while still releasing this stream, causing himself to go around in an O shape, remaining in the air with this tech. Then, Sinbad looks up and at an angle, as he moves his head to have it propel him directly at his teacher where he lands directly in front of him like Buzz lightyear.

I used these two techniques to show you that I have a good understanding of nature transformation and shape manipulation. ^^

Sominus walks slowly towards his Sensei, thinking about how he could accomplish the task he was given in the most efficent way. He stops a few steps in front of Kakuzu and turns right. Aiming at a tree located short range from him Sominus channels his Fuuton based chakra into the air surrounding him, manipulating it. He uses said chakra to create a squall moving straight forward to the target. The gust carries a lot of dust and sand from the ground Sominus stands on towards the tree, which forms a layer on it's branches. People would have a hard time, keeping a solid stance on the sand and they might even skid.

Moments after performing the first technique Sominus bends his knees and jumps up. While doing so he already channels chakra from his lungs up to his mouth. He releases said chakra in form of a strong, compressed stream of wind. He uses the jet to gain even more height before he turns his head around to change his flight course. Starting by tilting his head to the right his body moves left in mid-air. Using this principle he angles his head in a way to move in a circle. Constantly releasing the stream he completes his third round and undoes the Jutsu just to land infront of Kakuzu and Sinbad.

Key Points: Terrible description really. I see this technique getting misused/misinterpreted most times out of ten, since there's no clarity in the way its written.

Hence afterwards, I want you to create a wall of spinning wind directly in front of you capable of pushing back small tools and thrown weapons. Use this technique to defend against my attack, doing so incorrectly may result in your own death *gives student a serious look before throwing two normal kunai towards you and behind that a single explosive kunai*.

Key Points: Not a bad technique, though its limited to low-level defensive use.

Sominus manipulates his Fuuton based chakra and releases a huge stream of wind towards the rock pile his Sensei pointed to earlier. The rock pile is located short range from him, however the Jutsu continues to mid range. The wind, while proceeding, carries a huge amount of rocks with it, as it passes by the pile. As the wind reaches the desired location it would lift up an opponent, if there was one. Said foe now being thrown of ballance/stuck in mid air would have a hard time defending from the rocks, hitting all parts of his body, starting with the head - knocking him unconscious - and continuing with the torso and after that the limbs - breaking several bones and maybe even cause inner bleedings.

As Kakuzu describes the given task and grabs 3 kunai, Sominus already uses his chakra to manipulate the air in front of him. The result is a wall of spinning wind that is capable of pushing back incomming attacks like the kunai travelling towards him. Noticing that his Sensei threw only two of the kunai first and the third afterwards he pays closer attention and notices a tag attached on the third kunai. Assuming that this is an explosive tag Sominus realises that he's put in a dangerous situation, because an explosion might occure if the kunai reaches the wind barrier. Using this input he manipulates the jutsu so the first two kunai get deflected and repel the explosive kunai before it could reach the wind, leaving the tag intact and no explosion occures. Also Sominus wouldn't suffer any damage if his sensei decided to blow the tag up by himself because he was able to keep a fair distance from said kunai.

Sinbad gathers his wind chakra and sets his sights on the pile of rocks. He creates a wave of wind through the use of his hands. The rocks then lift up of the ground with the opponent, and the rocks hit the clone multiple times, causing it to poof.

Seeing two Kunai coming his way, Sinbad quickly focuses his Fūton chakra and blows out from his mouth a spinning wall of wind. The wind wall then gets hit by the Kunai sent at him, and as such, the Kunai are knocked away by the swirling wall of powerful wind. They are then repealed back, which Sinbad aimed for them to come in contact with the explosive Kunai to assure that it did not come in contact with the wind. When the first two come in contact with the wind, they are thrown backwards by the spinning wall of wind, and they hit the explosive Kunai.
