hello guys! i just started watching bleach like yesterday! haha an im like on episode 73 :/ but i dont understand shix :flaw: can someone explain me why ichigo has that mask?? an why did it take ova him?? plizz

because rukia have him shinigami powers but he is a human, so he was either gonna become a shinigami or a hollow but thanks to training with urahara he bacame shinigami with a part of hollow within him who is known as inner ichigo who is the one giving ichigo the mask powers and at his battle with byakuya the mask tryied to take over him because he didnt have complete control over it but then by training with the vizard group(i dont know if you ahve got to this part yet) he mastered it.

During his training with Kisuke Urahara, he got that inner-hollow thing which is basically like his inner split personality. Hollow Ichigo would take over whenever Ichigo was too weak and had a desperate desire to win.
He known as a Vizord, which are Soul Reapers who gained Hollow Powers.

Happened while he was attempting to regain his Shinigami powers, because Rukia's brother Byakuya destroyed them: Ichigo was trying to "save" Rukia from them taking her back to SS. He had 3 tests in order to get back his powers, and the #2 was to be placed in a pit with 72hrs to use his Shinigami powers to get out of it deciding on whether he'd become a Shinigami or Hollow. He got out of the pit in 72hrs (more or less) but had a Hollow mask, although he resisted his inner Hollow nature, a piece of it always takes over Ichigo's body when he has doubt ! I'll let you figure out the rest x D
