Dominance is a side effect from testosterone which is what makes men, men. Men that are of the shy type are basically calling them self less of that of a male by being shy. The roles of a male and female is that the male is the hunter, the female is the nurturer. It's the parts assigned by evolution and it's the roles best suited for our bodies. So by being shy you are therefore assigning yourself as the submissive type which is saying you might as well be castrated.
