Unfortunately we have tried a tournament countless times in the past and it has failed each one of them.

Though it seems like a impossible thing to do, because of past attempts, this one can be worked on ahead of time. It's not like a week before we start or even a month. We can have a annual tournament. We can have pools, pairings for winner and loser brackets. If this can be worked on for a long time for preparation we can make this happen. It just needs careful planning and the patience to be made. Though there is many that want it to happen, there is only a few that would work for it. I used to host tournaments for a few games normally in my living location, not saying it's the same but close. This is a definite possibility if people put in the time for it.

even thought u have done it again

and just be sure that atleast a mod watch each battle so that nothing inligal happens
and aware them that it would be an infract if they do
and lets begin withe 20 submitters

It would fail -again- it has been tried before. Even not so long ago by Shikamaru Teaguy.
Just posting it will not solve anything. If you want this to have any chance of succeeding, you not to organize it: make rules, what is allowed and what not, searching for contestants etc.
But considering that it has always failed, even with that, I'm not planning for giving out rewards or something nor am I planning to help in organizing it. Don't think any of the other mods will help either. You can always try, but I doubt it will succeed this time.
Even if it starts good, people will loose their interest and just let it die.

Also if they made it fancy, like the treasure hunt.
Ex. Charts showing upcoming battles, battle results.
This would be a "cool" aspect and would both motivate and keep people up to date with their battle results and up coming set battles.
That's different from the Tournaments, though maybe if they had great prizes..people would be motivated for it. =J

I had a lot of fun in the Treasure Hunt, however we started with a lot of groups but most of them didn't even started or they just stopped during the TH. Not to mention that some people, who were supposed to help organize it, just abandoned Rei.
You can consider it a success, but certainly not a complete success.
That's your opinion and you can't compare those two with each other as they are completely different.

but how would u not compare those 2
TH was a competition and so is a tournament
they r classified in the same group, that doesn't makes sense by saying they can't be compared
tournament most of the times included only battling, add something else its all about creativity for example shoot a moving a target, which technique would you pick? in the end experience matters in it as the user will have to think which attack will actually hit quickly, and i don't to reply that its to easy or childish any1 can go through cause we have to think up something making it difficult
treasure included alot of stuff, for instance a tournament example is Naruto; Ultimate Ninja 3's Ultimate contest
Ultimate contest; This is an RPG style part of the game, which allows you to go on missions and unlock several characters, as well as learn different jutsu. Before you can do this, however, you have to enter into a tournament in which you need to defeat many characters in order to get their crystals. After this is done, you can roam freely and level up different characters which you have unlocked.
who ever gets the targeted amount of crystals and lasts till the time limit enters the next stage the ultimate prize can perhaps be a special biography without having to give a test or something else

In the TS you just had to solve some riddles, doing some tasks or something of that sort. That's completely different from actually doing long RP-battles -_-

People couldn't even finish normal battles in the past, why would they know finish it + doing even more stuff?
Using the argument of that they are both trournaments is irrelevant. The World Championship Soccer and the local Miss Grape are also tournaments, still they are impossible to compare.

It really does come down to prizes. People won't care unless they get something. Maybe even a title? It doesn't matter though. Since no one really wanted to help, I would, and there isn't any support to this I won't even bother in making a bracket. I even have a tournament program for this idea.

and in my opinion C, u just dont want it to happen with no reason coz failarity is not a reason
just lets try it with more controll and security
and dont worry i can find myself an mod that is willing to help out, if thats the proplem
and i wasnt even here while TH was around but i promise u that it will secussied with the elements i wrote up
and members like dark sage will help out ( i believe )
and about that battles that never get completed we wil ask them to continue if they dont then we will let then both lose and that will make t easier
i believe there is way to succes if the will exsists
