I say its a pretty good idea but there are a few problems to the entire thing looking back at everything that has been achieved in the past year (well back to late April). Then going threw and choosing the best candidate for that specific award would be nearly impossible to do because there have been a lot of "best" at certain things such as I myself have been in some of the big fights here on NB but then again there have been many many many others who have also had amazing fights. So as I said before it would be next to impossible to judge who was the "best" at a certain feat because in a fight there are many things you have to look at the comeback, the advantage, the combinations, the technique, the flawlessness of their jutsu's, and so on and so forth.
(I am only using the fight award as a basis because I can cope with it and explain it much easier than I can other things)
But also for like the best fanfic yes there have been really great pieces of work brought into the fanfic area and a lot of members have made threads in it. This alone is hard enough as it is because you would have to go threw read everything and see what that person brought to the stage (so to speak) for drama, action, love, etc. When an award is handed out it is much harder than it seems to decide on what has happened and who deserves which award because there are so many different levels that you have to look at I mean someone good do exceptionally well in one area but could really suck at another point where someone else did very well and that would be hard to decide between the two.
Don't say we could bring this down to a voting poll between the two because that would only complicate things more because as I know we don't have an IP block system for a poll where when you vote with your account and your ip you can't log onto another one of your accounts and vote again because that would be completely and utterly unfair to the person that lost. Also if we closed that one and re-opened it for due to unfair voting it would make things hard because we cant stop that process from happening again.
So all in all I think its a good idea but it is very complicating when you think to the core of the details for it.
