I just noticed in the bottom right corner of the today's topics page there is an advertisement
I have never seen an ad there before, and I am wondering how long this has been going on?
Anyone else notice this? Am I late on catching this ad?

Personally I'm glad NB is making some money from Ads

I've seen ads only when I visited as a guest I think. After logged in I've never seen a ad.

I believe this is only for guests that has not registered or logged in on the site if I remember right. Unless V is testing stuff out.

Ads can also appear in browsers when you have gotten malwares on your PC, maybe you should also scan it for malwares just in case to be on the safe side. However I think it is as I mentioned before.
