For one with such power to save one much weaker then then leads Oberon to a few conclusions. 1. He saw potential 2. Hes just a really stand up guy 3. Pity. But Oberon would keep these thoughts to himself as the man asked his question.

Keeping his reply short and simple. No hesitation and complete resolution in his eyes.

"To seek knowledge and sow a little chaos along the way."

That was it. He doesnt care if he is used as a tool, or if he is molded with power. As long as he can continue his research and have fun along the way.
He didn't seem to catch his drive in a world such as this...

"Where do your allegiances lie?"

"Who cares? We all end up back in void anyway. Every demon or angel, human or divine. The void brings us life and when that life is done, it takes everything back. Satisfied?"

A truly unsettling smile creeps across his face as he says this, showing the less then sane side of himself

A true statement, all that lived did in fact perish. Some sooner than others.

"I see. So you accept your fate with no choice but to face it without challenge? Without making your mark on this world? Without aiming to change the broken cycle?"

"Oh I will face whatever challenge is sent my way, I'll make a name for myself across the world and make people fear the name Oberon and the power of the void he wields. All within my own cycle. I feel the more I learn, the closer I get to unleashing it's true power."

Akira looked the boy up and down. Having seen what put him in the shape was in proved only one thing. They were weak. They sat here boasting that their name will matter. What a joke. Akira had to keep his disdain for his words to himself. Fortunately the disgust on his face was hidden beneath his mask. He tried not to clench his fists as a slight anger built up within him.

"Boy, the void wont grant you a wish. Relying purely on that will draw your cycle to a close sooner than you ever could imagine." His words stern now. "Right now, I could end you existence without even breaking a sweat and there would be nothing to stop me. Not the void... not those eyes... not your words." It was true. He could simply rip the boys soul out.

"Serve me and you will thrive. Serve me and you will be able to spread that name. Serve me and you will find what true power means.... what say you boy?"

Oberon ponders for a minute, he had thought they were already in a form of alliance from before in their conversation. Perhaps he had misundersto....wait did he say he could rip his soul out? What power could bestow that ability? More importantly, could it be taught...If this was the level of power he could attain from serving this man...

Another smile crept along his face as he slowly dipped onto one knee with his head bowed down.

"Oberon the Faerie King will serve thee gladly."

Maybe they weren't as stupid as he originally thought. As the boy knelt, Akira's eyes followed him. The boy called himself king yet ready to server. It would seem they were still slightly dillusional.

"When you're ready, meet me at the location on this map. And take this scroll. With it you will be able to communicate with me." Akira spoke passing the boy a map and a communication scroll. "Don't leave me waiting too long."

In a puff of smoke, Akira was gone. The clone had dispersed relaying all information to the other clones and real Akira.

After the clone of his new master poofed, Oberon collapsed backward as all the tension left his body. Sighing while letting out a small chuckle, he gazed up into the early morning sky. It had been many years since he was this beaten and exhausted.

His mind wandered to that fateful day, where he awoke underneath the rubble, no idea of who he was or how he even ended up in that situation. He remembers the desperation he felt as he tried to claw his way out, the faint echoing whispers that grew louder as every minute passed by.

He let out another chuckle at the memory of the young girl who had tried so desperately to save him, that young girl who grew into such a powerful acquaintance. While a little rocky at the start, they did benefit from each other, she had someone scouting around while he had access to freedom to learn. Such was what this mission originally was for.

Intel leads back to some kind of cult, rumored with ties to the Arali and even hints to a sinister plot utilizing chakra of the Tailed Beasts. But that was all here-say, so Oberon out of pure curiosity volunteered to explore and investigate.Which led to him being here. Bloodied and bruised, his mind brimming with curiosity. Especially the whisper when he read about the hammer.

Something about that item, triggered something lost. Which confused him, as anything lost is returned to the void, with no way to be recovered. So were these fabrications? Were they brain damage? Or were they something more…

…powerful.

While not common, he did have regret over his premature decision to accept his demise. Since waking up, he had questioned everything in the pursuit of knowledge, but why not question his acceptance of death, or returning to the void? He took note of the cold sweat beginning to form as he continued to ponder over this mentality. Deciding to re-visit it later, his mind focused on the masked man.

A smile crept along his face, recalling how easily the man dealt with the Arali, and his promise for power of similar scale. While he still did not know his new comrades name, or his face, the mystery of his entire being tantalised his curiosity and fueled his hunger to learn.

Standing up, he dusted off his clothing and did a twirl, arm outstretched as he spun, until he stopped and his finger pointed in a single direction.

“So it’s this way today.”

Setting off in that direction, he whistled a tune that had haunted him since waking up.
