Kishimoto said in an interview with shonen that he always viewed naruto and sakura as Caucasian and sasuke as a mix between Caucasian and asian

so what do you think certain characters ethnicities are?

I don't remember any interview like that. I always figured that clans were more important than race in the Naruto verse anyways. Naruto does look caucasian though.

I always thought real life Sakura would be a strawberry-blonde, or a few shades lighter than a ginger. Her dad has weird darkened pink hair, though that might be age...

I think Kumo's dark-skinned people are generally supposed to be African-descended, and judging by some the cultural markers we see, Americanized as well. In fact, all of Kumo's Raikage have been dark-skinned men with rather thick lips and wide noses. The first two even have dark hair and I think the Shodai Raikage has an afro. It's good to see some representation to be honest, especially when Kumo seems to be a badass village in general, if not the most moral. Also, Karui's hot.
