i think that narutos time line could be our time line except they might be like the Amish who almost separate there self from society *there's a big freaking gate*

also they have 2 way radios and great medical equipment.

yah they try to stick to more ancient times in terms of weaponry or long range communication such as cell phones hence they use birds but the feudal lords use those tvs to communicate if necessary they live somewhat current time e.g refrigerator computer microwave oven carton of milk power lines for some reason but they dont use phones
