Chapter 1: "It's so Dark"
I layed there on the ground, breathing hard. Kurama and I fought hard and now the fatigue is catching up to me. In the distance I hear Bushy Brow sensei and Kakashi sensei talking. They are sealing Sasuke and preparing to take him back home. All this time searching, and now he is coming home. Bee sat down next to me earlier, he started talking to me but I was too tired to hear. Finaly, I faced him.
"Bee....It's so dark...." I said at last, unable to see the man I was talking to.
"Naruto.....he burned them...he burned your eyes with those black flames." he responded, nearly choking on his own words. The memory flashed in my mind, Sasuke looking at me with his wierd eyes and then nothing but blackness, my eyes burning out of my skull. I could still feel the burns. Then it happened. Kurama took survival oprotunities and broke the seal I made on the turtle island. I changed into that tailed form that the other Jinchuriki took in the battle with the masked man. Accept unlike before I could see everything vivadly. My skin peeled away and my eyes popped out of my skull and then nothing. I saw nothing more. Kurama was my eyes. I beat Sasuke. Appearantly changing form alloud me to escape the flames.
Sakura walked up to me. I knew it was her because I recognized her crying.
"Naruto! Naruto! I will heal you," she spoke in between sobs, "I will fix your eyes Naruto!"
"It wont do any good Sakura, his eyes can't be healed," Kakashi said as he seemed to hold her back.
"There has to be something we can do!!!!!" Sakura screamed in protest.
"If I had my way I would rip the eyes right out of that traitor. He will only use them to harm the leaf. How many of our youth must be set ablaze by his evil?" Guy sensei proclaimed in a manor more serious then I had ever heard him speak.
"What will that accomplish?!" Kakashi screamed back, "are we that savage as to just take an eye for an eye, Guy?"
"We have to do something? Where else can we find a pair of eyes?" Guy fired back.
I finaly spoke out and everybody became quiet, "Where is the masked man. Where's Tobi?"
"He's in a body back with the others. Why?" Kakashi responed.
"If I would have one regret leaving this battlefield. Is leaving the eye of a good man in the hands of a bad man. Nagato's eye does not deserve to rot with Tobi." I answered.
"Consider what you are doing Naruto. There is no going back. You will forevor have his Rinnegan eye. A constant reminder of your past." Kakashi argued while covering his sharingan. "The eye of the man that killed Lord Jiraiya. The eye of the man that leveled Konoha. The eye used by Tobi to bring so many people to suffer in this war. Is that something you are willing to proceed with."
I was silent for a moment before responding, "Nagato, had good purpose, but was only mislead. I talked with him and Itachi during the war. He isn't evil Kakashi Sensei. Only mislead. Sakura, bring Tobi here." Sakura knodded and ran back to bring the corpse of the man that started all of this. Kakashi sighed and went back to Sasuke.
It was silent for a moment, until I heard another familiar voice. "Wasn't that precious."
"Sasuke?" I asked. He didnt answer. He laughed for a moment before being sealed away by Kakashi Sensei.
Sakura returned.
"Naruto, he only has one of Nagato's eyes. What are you going to do about your other eye?" she asked.
I tilted my head in her direction and in my mind I pictured the red sharingan eye. And then the face that it belonged to.
