That would make a solid reason as to why he has his right hand bandaged.
That would not make sense actually, because they already did two Rasengan Chidori and none of them place bandage on his arm. We also know that in SM, Naruto can spam any amount of FRS without any damage. We also know that Naruto can even create an eye, so why would he have problem reconstructing his arm?
However, the manga logic would be that a healthy shin obi bandage his arm because he has a power that cannot be exposed - maybe to avoid accident, or to avoid leakage of chakra.
The theory is good, but it will not be the end of the fight. I actually think it would happen very early, and the shin obi will wake up to watch the fight. I will be pissed off if the fight happens without all the nation watching, because they won't know how their ass got saved. At the end, Naruto will become the new legend, the one who stop a great threat, just like Rikudo.
So far:
(1) Juubi has been revived just as Juubi went berserk in Hagoromo's era
(2) Kaguya has been sealed by Naruto and Sasuke just as she was sealed by Hagoromo and Hamura
Now, we in the part of what happened to Hamura after they sealed their mother. I know also a legend related to buddhism where two brother fought other an elixir of life. The fight happen after they defeated the common enemy.
Well the implication of the bandage has much less to do with the Rasengan/Chidori, and more to do with what happens after Naruto touches the other seal, but your point is taken. Quite a good point and possibility actually.
I also think that IT will be released earlier in the fight than I originally thought, and then a powerup war essentially ensues, but I'd like to see the next few chapters before going too much into detail on that.
And I am very interested in this story of the two brothers fighting for an elixir of life. Seems like it pertains to this immensely. Most interesting though is that the closest we have to an elixir of life is the fruit that has yet to be seen. Feel free to link this story if you have the time!
Well, I actually came across the story when I was searching on Indra and Ashura. I did not record the link, but the story popped in my mind When Hashirama and Madara were having their last conversation. Do you remember what Hashiarama said? Basically, he said that when they were kid, they thought if there was a solution for immortality, they would share it. You can also see Orochimaru looking for immortality. Basically, Madara could say he figured out the solution - that is becoming the sage of the six paths. Orochimaru could also say the same thing. Kabuto was also after the same thing. And Rikudo proved it. He can travel anytime across dimension and time.
Could it be that Hagoromo and Hamura fought also for the same thing.
