The reason why people are split on this is because of Naruto deviating from its roots and Boruto is appealing to Naruto's roots.


People who continue the story wants to continue the story rather than being back to square one.
Making another series will distance the grass roots of Naruto from where the story is heading, which is DBZ mode.

However, they went back to that but the thing is, you can never go back to the way it was. It has been escalated that you simply cannot go back to simple times.
