The manga is not over yet, he might save sasuke in a future chapter. Besides, his goal has been to become hokage since chapter 1 I don't see why kishi will end the series with him not being the hokage. And it has been hinted at many times already that he will become hokage.

Actually during the pain fight he used his intelligence to outmaneuver the individual paths and used the intel he had on them to his advantage. Examples being how he used his clones and smoke bombs as feints and picked them off one by one and how he used sage mode to locate and track nagato down. Even during the third raikage fight he devised two separate attacks, the first one being a failure, and the second being a successful strike using his perceptive abilities to find a weak point nobody else figured out.

So... No. He has certainly shown a decent level of intelligence, but I can agree he doesn't show it consistently like when he fought edo nagato.

He knew about all of this and he failed against nagato and was about to die. The pain arc was plot no jutsu. and edo Nagato proved it.

I thought that edo nagato's fight had more plot no jutsu in it than the pain arc and it was a way for kishi to show some more HAX uchiha techniques and to free itachi from edo tensei. But to suddenly forget about the rinnegans probably most dangerous technique was just bad writing from kishi, that way itachi could come into the picture and save naruto and bee. Cosman has a point actually he did show some goon intelligence against the raikage and pain.

She had that speech with Dan that makes me think she will live.

I have three reasons why Kakashi won't become Hokage:

1. He doesn't want to be Hokage.

2. That story was told during the Five Kage Summit arc, it would be a repeat story line for him to become or almost become Hokage again. If Kishi wanted Kakashi as Hokage it would have happened then.

3. He would look absolutely ridiculous in the outfit. He doesn't have the right build for the hat.

I would not say he failed. Someone one else just be him to it, that someone who is considered the God of Shinobi. And also, Sasuke did ask the 1st. He didn't egive a sh*t about Naruto's opinion.

strength doesnt make you a hokage.

Naruto isnt smart enough to take care of an entire village nor play the role.

Manga disagrees, he saved konoha against pain(where tsunade, the hokage, failed to do so). Now Naruto is even stronger than he was back then. Tsunade is strong, and is more intelligent than Naruto, but Naruto's current power dwarfs Tsunades. Naruto also isn't the same idiot that he used to be, his strategies/clever thinking in battle has greatly improved. So I'd say a decently intelligent/extremely powerful Naruto can defend the village as hokage better than a intelligent/experienced/strong tsunade. Basically Naruto's strength/abilities are great enough to make up for his lower intelligence.
