screen shot from Naruto Movie Road To Ninja
Yah Kishi gets it, why can't Hinatards get it lol, no offense.
I finally got to see the movie. That shot lasts a grand total of six frames. It was after she got kicked into the air by Menma, Naruto catches her so she can land safe. She's only smiling because she's relieved. Naruto's better, and the battles turning back in their favor. Just moments before, he was half braindead, prognosis unknown. It's a, "Hey look who's back!" moment.
It's very easy to misinterpret an image when the element of timing has been taken away from it. It's a screencapture that lasts indefinitely as a still, but it's actually really super brief in context.
It's a movie "mostly about Naruto and Sakura's relationship" ? Have you even seen it? It looked like a movie about both of them getting trapped in a genjutsu and dealing with its temptations
separately in their own way. What it looked like it was
mostly about was Naruto trying really hard to cope with being in a family that he knows is fake; at first resisting, then accepting, then realizing these people are not his parents and they never will be.
It's also about Sakura learning to appreciate her parents. Maybe she also learned not to talk shit about her parents around Naruto anymore because on a lonely day at home she wondered if that's what it's like for Naruto all the time. In all, the movie is about each of them learning their own lessons. Any development that happens
between them is minimal or takes a back seat to the major events, so I hardly call it mostly about their relationship.
If you listened to interviews with the actors, they talk about FAMILY. FAMILY. FAMILY is an important theme in the movie. Moms and Dads. There's plenty of Sakura fighting one-on-one with Menma, but when does the battle finally end? When Mom and Dad appear to block the badguy's final attempted blow.
When everybody got home it was back to business as usual. Learning to appreciate what things are like for people is something Sakura goes through anyway in the main series. Sakura was just like she always is when she turned down a date at the end of the movie.
