From what I've seen Naruto may become equal to the sage of six paths. Naruto is freaking amazing now. Kakashi even thought Naruto was his sensei for a second or two. Although I don't think it will happen till the series is already over.

ot: Naruto and Sasuke both have and will continue to become more powerful but like which has been by others on this thread the Sage had his own level and thier is only room for him at that level
even if they are direct descendants of the sage they are dilluted in comparison

and most likely the sage could not bring peace through strength which he had in an abundance
