Read carefully what i wrote..He had no knowledge on how to tap into Kurama's chakara only in life or death situations..The clones he made was a fluke out of anger to protect his teacher..It's not like he was able to do it all the time..smh stop riding bro..and i don't mean a bike
Not exactly. When he learned of kurama, he demanded chakra as payment for rent. He taped into it when he fought neji and gaara as well

I don't agree with you.

What you state is the information we know as of NOW. Naruto has had poor chakra control since the beginning, meaning that it was near impossible for him to become a shinobi in the first place. Never an underdog? Please.
no oro use a seal on Naruto because of that poor chakra control after Jiraya found naruto he useal oro's seal in that moment naruto
become the boss

he was an under-dog,he had nothing from the start,no he had a giant demon stuck inside him that was waiting for a chance to take over his body, the same one that made him suffer because everybody thought he was a monster and nobody cared about him,and the same one messing up his chakra control making him unable to use the easiest jutsus.
and being the hokage's son meant nothing when nobody knew and nobody treated him as a one.
and as for using kurama's chakra,it was a curse,it was a hidrance to his growth until now, since he had to spend three years with jiraya trying to use it with no success, since he was doing it the wrong way because neither him nor jiraya knew how to do,and that made his life in danger each time he used it,since it will be a chance for kurama to take over his body also that chakra was hurting him physically and even reducing his life span, and limited his growth since he had to concentrate in controlling kurama's chakra more than getting new moves.and now when he finally got the power he was risking his life for,and worked so hard for,a lot of people seem so butthurt about it.

LoL biatch please.
Naruto: Born and given most powerful biju right away.
Learns Shadow clones, supposedly advanced in matter of hours.
Attempts to learn summons but sux until he used kurama chakra.
Learns rasengan in 1 week, another supposedly hard jutsu, it took years for minato n jiraya.
Learns FRS in under a week too S-rank jutsu
Learns Sage Mode in 1 month, took years for jiraya.
Conquers hate in 1 hour, defeats kyubi with help of mommy.
Learns some ass-pull sealing jutsu of so6p. spends some 1-2 days shaping and controlling his new chakra.
Gains malice sensing out of thin air, then goes like hey kurama, lets be friends OK? Gains instant BM
Learns ass-pull rasengan planet
Had constantly his ass saved by kurama power, gets KMC speed and reactions out of nothing(his base is rather pathetic, so much for training). Had been saved from kyuubi overtake multiple times, even by dead father.
And now he is supposedly new sage coming.

Underdog my ass, he never rally trained for shit, rapidly learns advanced moves, gets new abilities out of nowhere, at least sasuke paid huge price for his EMS and trained alot to get where he is, and still doesnt seem so powerful.
Why dont u GTFO????
Agreed with this one; i could not summarize it better; i do not understand why people call Naruto hardworker; and no, he was not an underdog; he just did not know his situation as the hokage's son or child of prophecy; Naruto bound to be succesful; an underdog is also someone who does not have a certain direction; Naruto's faith was determined before his birth.

Naruto was the underdog. He was despised by the village, had no friends,he didn't know about his powers, nor his genes. He was able to use Kurama's chakra only when his life was on a threatening situation or when he was going through big emotional distress.
He became a hard worker and made his nindo after kakashi became his sensei and he learn about Kurama's power and developed the "guts never to give up", after Jirayia started training him.
It took about 4-5 years for the majority of people to recognize him and his power.Genes are good, but if you don't work hard to develop the powers that was given to you,you are bound to fail.
So yeah,Naruto was an underdog and became a winner through hard work.

Kurama only recently became a power. The Kyuubi's chakra was more of a hindrance to development because it was a safety blanket in fights and the temptation to rely on that power made him rely too heavily on it at the cost to his body and confidence in himself. Not only is it hard to be a jinchuuriki for the reason that he had to grow up with what throughout the manga has always been described as one of the biggest sources of hate, but he also had his whole village shun him and call him a loser... That's a lot to overcome. What you point out is potential... but potential does not discount you from being an underdog. An underdog rises to the occasion to fulfill their potential, but that doesn't mean that an underdog has no potential... it means that everyone had already assumed the underdog had no chance before they rose to their potential.

Being 4th's son, having Kurama = potential for greatness
Being shunned and called loser by village = being counted out

Underdog's need to have potential to begin with to rise to the occasion.

Not necessarily. Naruto may not be as much of an underdog like Lee and Gai, but he is in the same category.

People did not take into account that Naruto did not have control over his powers. Look at these incident:
-4-Tailed Naruto vs Orochimaru (He was enraged that Orochimaru taunted him)
-Almost transformed against Nagato (Thought Hinata was dead)
-Against Diedara (Tried to used TB powers, but end up getting enraged)
-Against Haku (Angered that Sasuke was almost dead)
Look at these fights again, you notice that Naruto never used the powers out of his own will. There had to be emotional events for him to awaken them. In others words Naruto could only use these powers out of anger.

This is before Naruto trained and control his power. Look at the more recent fights with KCM and BM, you'll notice that Naruto can now use the Tailed Beast powers at his own will instead of having to be angered or emotionally wrecked. That's why Naruto cannot use Rasengan and Rasenshuriken variations, KB, Toad Summons, and TBB until now. When he trained even more, that's when he used them.

Besides, Naruto is supposed to be depicted as a late bloomer and underdog while Sasuke is considered a natural prodigy and genius.
Naruto=Sasuke
Hard Work=Talent
Late Bloomer=Natural Prodigy

Thankyou. I signed up just to agree with this guy. Lee is the underdog, the hard worked. He wasn't given power through plot, he worked his fingers to the bone, so much so that he had to wear bandages around his hand.(they also looked cool) So yeah, naruto gets spam no clones and rasengan, kyubi mode, ten hundred upgrades and what not. If anything Lee needs more panel time... -_-

Shunned by everyone in the village PLUS no parents for support. Before Iruka, Naruto had nobody. Talent/strength are meaningless unless there is confidence and drive to go along with them.
I agree with you that he was never an underdog in ability, but ability isn't the most important ingredient in development.

Think before you post, an underdog is a person with a low rank in society, power is not necessarily the measure of STATUS Much like a nouveau riche would be the underdog in a group of Old Moneys because of their history of being poor, the same low status can be applied to Naruto because he was feared and looked down upon by the villagers before he became the hero of the Leaf.

And this post is correct, if you don't even know the definition of underdog you can't simply tell other people to educate themselves, and you not responding to it just showcases your ignorance and that you conceded the point, so debating it any further is stupid.

He was the pariah of the village, discriminated by everyone and had disavantadges in the academy due to kyuubi messing with his chakra control, and the fact that his relation to the 4th Hokage was hidden didn't provide him with any benefit at all.

Underdog -1.A competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest.
2.A person who has little status in society.

If this isn't what Naruto was thought of from the entire village besides the 3rd Hokage then u people need to go back to school...He is the perfect example..having such enormous power inside him yet being feared and hated by an entire village, not knowing the love of a family & hated without any knowledge of it,Pulling pranks to get attention to be recognized to be acknowledged by someone.Always the failure no matter how much he tried.Thur adversity he trained hard with his teachers and become stronger saved the village when no one believed he could and changed the people around him to have faith in him..smfh.Idk what u people consider the underdog in today's world but yea need to get off the pill popping

Yes he was. Just because he had those powers doesn't mean he was never the underdog.

Also, saying that he was never the underdog because he was Minato's son is stupid. Your lineage doesn't prove who you are. The whole idea of Naruto was someone who was an underdog, turning into a hero through hard work and the will to never give up.
True. I mean by that logic the off spring of mito and hashirama should have been ledgendary day one and we have never heard of them.

An underdog is a person who has nothing, NO POWER WHAT SO EVER and busts his a*s to become a powerful person. In naruto's case he was born a powerful ninja, so plz slap yourself with that silly argument.

An underdog is someone who's expected to lose, not someone who has nothing.

I think that is what makes Naruto's "Underdog Story" so funny... He had no clue he had the nine tails in him (until age 12) and he had no clue he was the fourth's father. When looking at it from the outside it appears as though he was never truly an underdog, but because of the fact that he just never knew, it's still an underdog story. And you seem to be looking at it from a purely "power" perspective. Naruto's story is also underdog-ish in the respects of what he is trying to accomplish and how being a jinchuuriki made the road that much more difficult.

So technically... he is an underdog. Jinchuurikis in general are underdogs. They are not expected to accomplish much simply because they are so hated. And being the son of the fourth is somewhat irrelevant, the few people who knew didn't tell him at all. And naruto only found out when he was 16.

I also love how you said "blessed" with kyuubi power. Having a presumed murderous demon inside you and being treated like a piece of filth is far from blessed.

But I will say he has damn good genes, so in power steeps he is certainly (and never was) an underdog. But in every other context he really is. Naruto had nothing, was nothing, and had nobody with him. Damn good underdog story to be honest.

And I don't remember where, but I believe it was stated that the fox's seal had some really negative consequences on his chakra control. I think jiraiya was the one that said that a large portion of his chakra was used to maintain the seal, and even then his body was too small a container (at the time). Not sure if I got all the info right (or completely wrong :p)

My opinions again :D (Sorry for the mouthful!)
