Preta Path would be useless only Nagato is absorbing infinite Natural Energy directly from Naruto, since he can't balance it. Senjutsu attacks get absorbed as it happened in canon. All of Naruto's moves are food for Nagato, and Nagato can just suppress Biju powers with Outer Path.

Sage Mode characters don't have to every time say ''Sage Art'' for every Jutsu they use. SM Jiraiya/Naruto were in the state of SM when they formed Rasengan, so Senjutsu Chakra is incorporated into it without having to say Sage Arts.

What determines whether or not you turn to stone is the amount of Senjutsu you absorb. Nagato being able to absorb an FRS safely doesn't mean he can safely absorb a max charged Senjutsu Bijuu Dama safely or the chakra directly from Naruto's Avatar if Naruto engages in close combat with him.

The whole point of controlling Sage Mode is for the user to do all the work balancing the Nature:Spiritalhysical energy ratio themselves. By absorbing a senjutsu enhanced Rasengan for example, Nagato wouldn't be absorbing pure natural energy, but a Rasengan with an already balanced ratio. Wouldn't that make it impossible to absorb too much natural energy? It worked in the Preta path case because Naruto was channeling natural energy directly, with the intention to absorb more than necessary.

The only flaw I can see to this is if a SM user can intentionally pack a lot of natural energy into their jutsu.

Natural Energy is not Senjutsu. Natural Energy is just energy that surrounds Naruto Verse. Senjutsu is when regular Shinobi's Chakra is mixed and balanced with Natural Energy. Gakido Pain turned to a stone because he doesn't know how to balance his Chakra with Natural Energy, and ended up overloading his receiver Chakra with infinite Natural Energy. Those won't happen with Nagato for several reasons:

1). Naruto's attacks are already balanced. Pain had absorbed Senjutsu attacks prior and didn't turn to a stone. ET Madara did the same thing.

2). None of Naruto's attacks can overload Nagato's Chakra. Nagato has far, far larger reserves than Naruto.

Nagato will only turn to a stone if he catches Naruto; Naruto decides to overload himself with infinite Natural Energy, and Nagato continuously absorbs that infinite Natural Energy with himself and fails in balancing it. That won't be happen because he already did it with Pain and won't do the same mistake.

The Pain path that turned himself into a frog bcus he tried to absorb Naruto sage chakra inside his body and not bcus he absorb Naruto Senjutsu attack. So yeah I think absorbing Senjutsu attack wont effect your body unless you trying to absorb pure NE inside SM user. IMO
