yes kakuzu outsmarted kakashi who is a genius
pain outsmarted everyone when he infiltrated konoha. he had the animal path go in and had it summon the other paths from the inside to confuse everyone which is brilliant.
naruto outsmarted edo third raikage by deducing his abilities. he went into sage mode to trick third raikage into knocking his hand into his chest.

Pain OVERPOWERED everyone, not out smart, he was too powerful for anyone to beat untill Naruto showed up.
Naruto outsmarted Nagato when he owned his Paths of Pain with that smokebomb rasen Shuriken combo.
Nagato only outsmarted 1 person 1 time and that was Jiraiya, pretended to be defeated, kept back 3 Paths, ambushed Jiraiya from behind when Jiraiya dropped his guard.
Learn the difference between outsmarting and overpowering.

as it is currently Tsukiyomi from Itachi which controls time would be a KO for Naruto until he gains full corporation from the Kyubi. And now that Sasuke has Itachi's eyes its not too far fetched to think his Tsukiyomi is most likely on par with Itachi's if not better So Sasuke would most likely defeat Naruto right now. Although I think gaining the Kyubi's full corporation is just around the corner for Naruto, then the Bijuu Dama and probably a full beast transformation (Like Bee's) too is just around the corner. Once that happens Naruto will have an answer to Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi and Susano. Their battle wont occur until Naruto gains these upgrades.

I am leaning towards naruto. you can't make him lose just b'coz of tsukiyomi. In other words if he just found a way to counter it there's no way for itachi to win. & Rember it's easy for jinchurriki's to prevent genjutsu .

yup, i think current naruto would tear thru susanoo....just not the sheild part lol, but that means, itachi's best bet is tsukuyomi

Your right about Tsukuyomi winning the fight. Your wrong saying the 9tails can break him out because it can't. The reason why is because Itachi's Tsukuyomi is instant. The 9tails would have to actually realize that Naruto is in an genjutsu and proceed to wake him up. 9tails or any beast can't vs that type of genjutsu.

Itachi has the capabilities, experience & intellect to take on and beat ALMOST anyone in the Narutoverse but as iSaid, ALMOST anyone, that excludes Naruto..
Here's how:
Itachi, the genius that he is, will somehow get Naruto to look into his eyes on purpose. Tsukuyomi sets in and iReckon that Naruto will not be able to get out of this genjutsu as it is INSTANTANEOUS! The Kyuubi will not be able to overcome the genjutsu fast enough before it is too late.
*Itachi 1. Naruto 0.
In terms of speed, KM Naruto should be more than enough to be surpass Itachi, giving him the ability to dodge Amaterasu effortlessly.

Final trump card now, Itachi invokes his Susanoo as a last ditch effort to subdue Naruto. Armed with the Yata Mirror & Totsuka Blade, you probably think this would be the end of Naruto...
KM Naruto's speed will enable him to avoid the attacks from the Susanoo with ease.
From here, it becomes an endurance battle in which we all know who is going to win...
Itachi will not be able to sustain the Susanoo for long and Naruto will be able to beat Itachi with Rasengan or something the results are obvious. K.O.
