You gather your Wind chakra in your lungs and exhale out wind, while compressing it to form a sphere of wind, which turns into a blast, blowing back the opponent and small objects. You can use this to speed up projectiles, and follow up with a fire blast. Since, this is a sphere, this almost acts like a solid object, i.e. it has the ability to deflect things, and can make an impact like how a punch would. If this were A-ranked, it could surely break bones. But, the drawback here is that it doesn't cover a wide area, and can be easily countered, since this is a projectile technique. How would you use it in a battle?

(Futon: Joushou Arashi Kabe no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Rising Tempest Wall Technique

Description: The user will first strike their target into the air with their Giant folding fan or Giant War fan and then follow up with releasing a blast of wind pushing the target back. Normal users can release a blast of wind to send them back if they do not possess a Giant folding fan or Giant war fan.

For shinobis, who don't use a fan in their bio, the technique involves channeling chakra in your lungs then releasing a blast of wind. Doesn't require any handseals, which is a good thing, and is a simple blast of wind. The range, however, is short, which is a double edged sword; you can use this to push back enemies who try to attack you with Taijutsu, although, it isn't useful in mid-long range battles. Doesn't cause any severe slashing damage to your opponent, he's just blown back. Doesn't cover a wide area, and can simply be evaded by going out of range of the technique. Be wary, however; you can combo it with Fire techniques, but remember a very important point:

Like the first two this one is useful to distance fighters in the sense that if an opponent where to engage in cqc you could push them back to a more comfortable distance. Like you said this can also be used to accelerate your projectile making it good for bukijutsu techniques as well as sending their own projectile weapons back. As wind affinity natural enhances fire this can be used to increase speed and destructive capabilities. As you mentioned this jutsu is shaped like a projectile and has some physical properties which makes it dodgable since it doesn't cover a wide range. I would personally only use this as a defensive/supplementary technique, supplement katon jutsu, creating diversions, or pure defense against weapons and cqc.

Honestly I feel you explained this perfectly to me. Basically this is pure defensive/supplementary jutsu as it has no real attack value, due to the wind not harming the opponent. I think actually having a fan may make this jutsu transition smoother but it may just depend on the user. I do how ever wonder if it is actually limited to just fans as giant swords (FFVII Cloud's Sword) could essentially produce the same amount of wind if swung like a fan. Would I be correct in assuming this or does it strictly need fans?

Alternatively, you can release a fire ball and "punch" the air forwards, which increases the intensity and range of the said fireball, along with it's speed. The downside here is that, you can only use it in short range.

This technique is famously used to remove foreign materials from your body. Once more, you can use this to take the enemies by surprise and inflict damage to them. What water jutsus would you counter with this technique?

Not many uses for this jutsu as it seems to be a one trick pony. It's a close range attack/defense that either pushes an opponent away or can be used to amplify katon jutsu. However the disadvantage of short range seems to be based on the user as a cqc fighter could find many uses for this. Battle wise yes it can push a enemy away but to a cqc fighter it could be used to deflect other cqc attacks. For example a tai jutsu user comes in for a punch instead of hitting them why not aim for that arm itself to throw the jutsu off trajectory while simultaneously throwing the user off balance leaving them open to all sorts of cqc combinations. Also if it's strong enough to push an opponent away if used downwards towards the ground could it push you up into the air?

(Fūton: Shinkūken) - Wind Release: Shock Blade
I find this jutsu pretty useful but think it can only reach it's full potential when used by a kenjutsu user/master. You basically have an invisible defense against projectiles while also extending the range and cutting power of you blade of choice. The reason I said this can only reach it's full potential with a kenjutsu user is that when combined with kenjutsu attacks you have just made the swordsman twice as deadly dependent on the jutsu used. As for the suiton part only one I can think of right now is Water Release: Water Prison and it's stronger variant Water Release: Gushing Water Imprisonment. By using this jutsu you could essentially blast a hole in the prisons freeing yourself or if used against water prison you could arm for the enemies arm cutting it off while freeing yourself from the prison.

Similar to Shock Blade. You gather your Fuuton chakra and channel it to your sword. Then, you slash down your sword in a specific arc. This motion causes wind to be released at once suddenly, in the form of powerful gusts of wind. The prime difference between this technique and Wind Release: Shock Blade is that, the power of the wind gust is greater with this technique, and covers an expansive area. Although, even the previous one is stated as mid-range, it means that the reach of the gust is mid-range, whereas, this is mid range too, but it covers a larger area horizontally.

(Fūton: Mugen Sajin Daitoppa) - Wind Style: Infinte Sand Great Break Through

Description: Originally Gaara's technique, for other characters the user will have to gather the dust or sand of the environment around him and then combine it with his elemental wind affinity. A large wind gust with dust or sand will get created capable to push away the opponent or medium sized objects.

For this, you gather a medium amount of Fuuton chakra, and then you'll take a deep breath. Mix your Fuuton chakra with the inhaled air and then exhale it out towards the ground, dividing your chakra equally as you blow out a large stream of wind. This wind stream will pick up the dust or sand in the vicinity and form a massive stream of dust/sand. You can then direct it at your target. The good point about this technique is that, not only can you push back the opponent or multiple opponents, you can also hinder their vision, since this forms a deadly sand stream. You can also push away medium sized objects with this, like Fuma Shurikens, swords, etc. Doesn't require handseals, so it's quite fast, but it's extremely location based, since you can't simply perform it on a lake, etc.

I feel the same way with this one as I do what with the previous jutsu (Fūton: Shinkūken) - Wind Release: Shock Blade. I believe that like the previous this jutsu would be best used in the hands of a swordsman. It as all the advantages that I mentions with Shock Blade but with added horizontal range providing a greater defensive perimeter.

This jutsu I like because its offensive, defensive, and supplementary to the user. Defensive in the fact that it blows away small weapons, weaker jutsu, and even people away from the caster. It is also supplementary as it blinds/hinders the vision or your opponents allowing you to preform other jutsu under cover of the sand or set traps for the enemy. When combined with other jutsu or weapon techniques you increase their deadliness and ferocity. I would personally use this jutsu in manners that use either one or all of these aspects, for example if my opponent launches shuriken at me in response I will throw some of my own followed by the use of this jutsu. This will deflect their shuriken back at them while increasing their speed along with my own; the jutsu would also provide cover for me to release two more jutsu without being seen.

Like you said the positives are the ability to blow back shinobi while at the same time doing damage to them. Another positive which is a big one is the fact that you can blow away large summons effectively making for a great defense. Another positive besides the usual fire and projectile enhancements is the fact that it is just summoned with no warning and no hand seals. I would use the just in combination with katon and projectiles as well as defense and most definitely against summoned creatures.

One of the strongest Fuuton jutsus, and the most uncontrollable of the lot. You perform the Ram handseal and inhale, mixing the inhaled oxygen with your chakra. You then expel a large blast of wind that is so powerful that it has the ability to level everything in it's path. It can uproot entire trees, blow away huge rocks, etc. It moves with great speed and is uncontrollable. Never perform it in short range, as you'll get caught in the mayhem too. It is also widely used in the RP and is used to supplement large scale fire jutsus, making them even deadlier.

Due to the properties of this technique, the expelled blasts are capable of piercing into and potentially through an opponent's flesh when they collide, in a similar manner to how bullets function.

Another favorite of mine. You string the Rat→Rabbit→Dog handseals, and take a deep breath, inhaling a large amount of air. Then, you gather up your Fuuton chakra in your gullet and combine it with the inhaled air. Channeling this to your mouth, you manipulate your chakra to exhale several blasts of wind at once. This technique is a little unique, since in the anime it was shown as a projectile, as well as a streaming technique, so you need to fuel chakra to it for the streaming part obviously. The projectile version of this jutsu is essentially, the same; 5 small blasts of wind are released as "bullets", imagine as if you were spitting bullets out of your mouth. It can divide rocks into pieces, as shown by Danzo. The streaming version is hard to avoid if you're in close range, since it has a wide horizontal range. Each bullet or blast has the ability to pierce through the opponent's flesh, although the downside is that the rank of the overall technique is divided among the blasts.

Biggest positive I see for this jutsu is it's ability to clear an entire terrain. If any thing is hiding from you and you know what general direction that they are in you could damage them while taking away their surprise advantage. Another plus would be the speed that which it moves meaning at closer distances it becomes even more difficult to dodge. As far as destructive force this is more than likely enough to take out an opponent if hit directly but can also be combine with weapon and free form tactics. Biggest downside would usage in cqc. Example if I fire it and my target created a wall right in front of me the blast would hit the wall and damage me instead of him. Us in battle: Supplement attacks, create clearings, and general defense.

I like multi function jutsu like this so the fact that it can be used in two forms each with their own style and tactics is a positive for me. For instance you could use the stream to push back an opponent or projectiles or the blasts to bombard your target from different angles. Another is the damage caused between splitting rock and piercing flesh this seems more of an offensive jutsu then it's predecessors. Dislike for me is the division of the rank when released in blast form as it makes it easier for your opponent to defend against if they decide to take them on one by one. Usage in battle would depend on the situation and which variant of the jutsu I use.

Note: Lasts 3 turns or until released.

This was shown by Temari and others in the manga and the anime. It was used to cloud the Juubi's vision. You perform the Rat handseal and gather up a huge amount of wind chakra in your palms, which you use to control the surrounding air currents in the atmosphere, forming a large dust storm of air currents and wind gusts. This jutsu loosens up the soil and debris in the surroundings, and you can create a barrage of rocks, dust, sand, etc, infused with wind. Large is an understatement. You can make it to cloud the entire battlefield with this. It's a commonly misused technique. You can't use to disperse Raiton jutsus, since the "Type" is given as supplementary. You can although use it to push back mist or smoke, etc. The primary use is forming a dust storm. Remember, supplementary jutsus have no offensive or defensive uses.

I see three positives two for sure and one possible if my understanding is correct. The first is the smoke screen you create to blind anything on the battle field including large summons which is very useful if you are a sensory type, have sensory jutsu, or doujutsu. The other guaranteed one is it's use to clear dust, smoke, or mist that is hindering your vision. I see three positives two for sure and one possible if my understanding is correct. The first is the smoke screen you create to blind anything on the battle field including large summons which is very useful if you are a sensory type, have sensory jutsu, or doujutsu. The other guaranteed one is it's use to clear dust, smoke, or mist that is hindering your vision. Description: This technique is a pinpoint slashing strike, where the user emits chakra from their fingertips and materialises it into an near invisible weapon that assaults the enemy in a gust of wind. If the Sickle Weasel Technique can be regarded as a swarm of small wind kunai, then this technique is akin to a virtually unavoidable longsword which can leave the target's body mutilated. Just being in close proximity to the technique can cause minor cuts. The wind blades can be created and thrown, like projectiles, in rapid succession, although in this case, each one weaker than the single use application. The technique cannot be blocked by physical weapons and is insanely fast by not relying on the use of Hand seals but, because it still requires the user to perform hand gestures to use and is somewhat visible in the effect it produces, it can still be defended against by using appropriate evasion techniques or fast elemental ninjutsu.

This technique can be performed by ninja who do not wield the Giant fan but require to make a sequence of 7 hand seals to perform the technique.

*Most of these while having exactly what was required for slicing gusts I assumed fell under vortex due to whirlwinds and tornados. Gale surge and revolving cut I must have just glimpsed over by accident.

This is multi-ranked. You gather your chakra and this time, you'll imagine sharpening your chakra; this is done by first imagining splitting your chakra into two halves, making these halves grind against one another, as the friction causes them to sharpen themselves into fine little pieces, as you did when you cut the chakra paper in half. This is again Fuuton chakra, but with a slicing nature. Once you get the hang of this, you would channel this into your sword(not mentioned in the description but shown in the anime), and swing your sword to release a slicing gust of wind. This slicing gust can split an oncoming wind technique into two halves and make them completely harmless. However, they can only be of C-Ranked or lower, or B-Ranked and lower(if you possess a primary wind specialty). This has to be within logic. Purely a supplementary technique, and has no offensive/defensive uses.

Positive is its ability to slice through wind style jutsu defending you against other wind attackers. Another positive is that if you have a primary wind specialty you can increase the amount of futon jutsu you can counter.

Negatives for the jutsu are that while it can counter futon it is supplementary meaning that it can't counter other elemental jutsu. It also has to be used with a sword in order to counter so none swordsman may be at a disadvantage(unless Mod/Senseis don't care). Also, if you don't have a primary wind affinity the amount of jutsu you could counter is shortened making it less efficient to use.

I would use this to counter C rank and below futon jutsu as I have a sword but don't have a primary wind affinity.

After you weave 3 handseals, you channel your wind chakra to the atmosphere and sharpen it, while rotating your chakra violently, to materialize forth a cyclone of slashing winds, and petals. The cyclone originates around you, and you can guide it wherever you want, only upto mid-range though. It travels in the form of a large drill. I wouldn't use it in mid-range, as the opponent has a good amount of time to counter. Could be good in short range, if you manage to subdue the opponent/use this on him to blast him away from short range if you don't want close quarter combat, as well as inflict some wounds on his body, though not major.

(Fūton: Kaze Shingai) - Wind Release: Wind Terror

Description: The user unleashes a wave of wind that slashes at the opponent by swinging their hand or hands.

Requires no handseals, so is quite fast in its performance. After gathering your chakra in your hands, and sharpening it, you release it outwards to a wide area in the atmosphere, thereby materializing a wide wave of slashing wind that can inflict some wounds on the opponent and stop him from getting into short range. I would use this over the previous technique, because of the lack of handseals and the speed with which it travels. Very straightforward.
