In the middle panel, Kyuubi says, "This is... the Sage of the Six Paths!" is he saying that Naruto is the Sage or is he talking about the jutsu? He seemed completely shocked.

I don't know why but something just popped in my head saying that madara is somehow going to succeed a little and get the juubi but somehow its going to be sealed inside Naruto and he's sorta gonna become the next So6p.

I am not saying he is going to get rinnegan cos thats silly =]

I notice that this topic is being broken down way too much, so I'm going to go out on a limb and try to offer my own "End of the Series" theory; because, that's what it sounds like you were trying to spark a conversation on.

Here it goes:
Naruto and Sasuke are both descendants of the Sage of the Six Paths. Naruto being from the brother who inherited the Sage's body, and Sasuke from the man who inherited the Sage's eyes. Now, let's suppose that the Sage's body refers to his life energy and his chakra control, particularly, in the form of Seals. Next, we can suppose that the Sage's Eyes refers the natural strength and depth of his chakra (to put it as simply as makes sense in my head: raw power or potential), as well as his ocular jutsu.

---The WAR Breakdown--- (Add filler and tie-ins wherever necessary.)
- Naruto enters the battlefield, and confronts many of the White Zetsu and remaining members of Akatsuki Revived (minus Itachi, that comes later.)
- Madara is delighted to see Naruto! (Gimme dat Tailed Beast NOMNOMNOM!) But, to amuse himself, he decides to let Sasuke have a crack at Naruto.
- But, wait! Itachi finds Sasuke first! (let's face it, no technique designed by Orochimaru or Kabuto, or Orochi-buto will EVER fool or control the eyes of an Uchiha of Itachi's calibur)
- A tender Uchiha bonding moment occurs! Itachi says his REAL final words to Sasuke, and breaks free of the resurrection. (or Sasuke releases him)
- SASUKE SMASH!!!! Sasuke goes off on Orochi-buto like nobody's business.
- Sasuke and Naruto finally have their throwdown! (Sasuke's attitude? "I don't care about your war, or your visions of the future, Madara. But, it's time to see which of us *naruto or Sasuke* really is stronger.")
- Madara tries to take advantage of the situation and take Kyuubi from Naruto, but it doesn't quite go as planned.
- In fighting with Sasuke and seeing the fruitlessness in either side of the war, Naruto realizes what he has to do.
- Naruto has a big "I've made a personal realization that will affect everyone!!!" speech
- Naruto uses his gifts (the Sage's "Body" or "Seal") to seal away a majority of Madara's abilities.
- Madara uses the Tailed Beasts he's already gathered in a last ditch effort to overpower Naruto
- Sasuke sacrifices himself to take out Madara
- Naruto uses his remaining strength to transfer the Tailed beasts into himself.

Good theory but you forget that itachi has no eyes unless the otherworld jutsu gave him new eyes he would be a blind powerless ninja

Naruto cannot be the new SO6P because he has but one half of the power needed to be the sage and that is the physical energy that the younger son had. He would also need the eyes of the Sage and he doesn't have that and that means he's ineligible to be the new SO6P

Your totally wrong there dude!.....naruto posses the uzumaki bloodline which it posses the unique power to control bijuus and ALSO survive when the tailed beast is extracted from his host like when kushina got the nine talis extracted from her she survived....but dude...analyze...kushina was giving BIRTH!!! t the same time the nine tails is extraced HELLOOOO...of course she is weakened and also she died because the nine tails killed her stabbing her with his huge claws along with the fourth hokage.........read more manga dude....your way behind...>_>

she was going to die in the end. that's the reason why she took that attack for naruto. she just lived longer than usual cuz of her uzumaki life force. it's clearly stated in the manga. a host dies when the tailed beast is taken out of him/her.

reread the manga and don't make yourself look bad anymore than you already have.

kushina died because the nine tails stabbed her with his huge claws....NOt by extracting the tailed beast from her....read carefully that chapter....uzumaki clan is the only clan who posses unique ability to control and NOt die from a talied beast extraction.....read manga more.....>_>

hahahaa this thread caught my attention and it's true you guys are reading way too much into it stranger things have happened in the naruto world. im betting that if the circumstances are right im pretty sure that what Sethic's idea of what could happen to naruto is actually very attainable. to schmack: ganja and naruto are very different things so using them in comparison just doesn't make sense.

I think most of you guys are, as Madara is, missing the point about what is to be sage of the sixth path.

I think Naruto already have the most important aspect for being the Sage of the sixth paths while Madara don't.

Beeing the sage of the sixth, at my sense, have nothing to do with having Rinnegan nor the ten tail.

The So6p have been able to rally people and change their minding, he unite people and bring peace.

Naruto is, will be, the second sage of the sixth... despite what Madara might be thinking.

I don't understand why naruto getting the rinnegan is such a far fetched idea it could happen.

There is no reason at all why it cant happen, for the simple fact that there are countless ninja who know how to transplant an eye, Ao did it to get the byakugan (as shown in the anime) and he didnt even have ocular powers to start with, if anyone can argue about this point then they know nothing about naruto. The only reason why it couldnt happen is if madara destroys the eye or naruto cant steal it from him
