Since the last year, the city of Naruto in Tokushima Prefecture on Shikoku island of Japan, has hosted several campaigns to attract tourists using Masashi Kishimoto's super popular manga/anime series NARUTO, which has the same name coincidentally.
The city of Naruto has held the Awa Dance Festival (Awa Odori), one of the three largest dance festivals in Japan, since 1600's. Last year they made a special dance stage featuring the NARUTO characters in the festival, and even decorated a local government building with the Hokage Rock monument. By the efforts and the series' popularity, the number of the visitors for the last year's festival was up 32% from the previous year.
This year they are planning to set up the NARUTO dance stage again and make two new NARUTO posters for the August 9-11 festival. The NARUTO voice actress Junko Takeuchi and other voice actors/actresses will hold a talk show on the festival's final day. At the fireworks event on August 7, they will display fireworks of the symbol of Konohagakure, the NARUTO's hometown in the series.
Here's the dance festival. You might got bored watching this lol!
