thats cuz in the old series where u can see a little bit more of the characters socialize kishi wanted to change that so itd be more actiony
he didnt want it to be turned into a shojo(love triangle stuff betrayal friendship problems perves falling for underaged girls)

I know that pissed me off too Naruto and Hinata should've had some closure after that. But I think Naruto has some feelings for Hinata (Over other the other supporting characters, not so much Sakura, Kakashi, or Sasuke but she's like right up there with them I think) considering that crazy ass look of horror on his face after she was struck down. I sware that face made me soooo sorry for Naruto at that moment. I know it's only a manga but I felt that from my screen. I looked at him and was like "Oh shyt Naruto's going to kill this mother F***er" pardon my toung.

The events are dictating the social events, Naruto is being force to adulthood by it, so are the others. Love and interaction are taking a back seat to the war, theirs no time for romantic interaction, no time for love to develop or for acceptance or rejection in Kishi eyes only time for duty, for war. I wish their was some interaction but thats up to Kishi. Kishi is focussing only on the war.
