How did he get the game early???

Some game shops, if not most, already have the game. Maybe a week or two before release. They just wait until the release date to set it out.

1. Either you work there and grab yourself a copy.
2. You know someone, and they sell you a copy.

Optional.

Sometimes there are gaming tournament or comic/anime conventions that might give out early copies to certain people.
