I think he just was preparing Sage Mode for a while, then when it was ready, threw the kunai, and then actually entered Sage Mode. There is no point in having instant sage mode, since it requires to stay still.

You cannot move at all when gathering sage energy. If you do, then you won't be able to enter sage mode. You have to sit/stand still until until you've completely entered the mode and the eyes have completely transformed. It's always been that way, just look at all Narutos transformations.

Animation was consistently average... Artwork was nice for the first third, dropped considerably in the second, and averaged out in the third.

As for content, there was too much filler. WE GET IT, SAKUMO DIES AMD OBITO WAS KUKI YOMENAI!!

Fluid animation and rigid art with great colours, overall great animation, really enjoyed the episode, but filler flashback next week? Seriously
With naruto back to Canon, I though it might be the best long running anime, but sadly these fillers just turn the mood off
Ft anime is much more enjoyable ryt now with great pacing and improved animation

I just want to know...Why an Obito/Kakashi flashback NOW? Like...Kakashi had his own filler arc (Kakashi ANBU arc) they couldn't have added his father dying in his own arc? Got to do it in a middle of this fight?

What's with this episodes name anyway? It shouldn't be The Two Mangekyo, Obito didn't say his awesome speech about having two special eyes together!
...At least the OST's were nice...

I thought the animation and the artwork were on point during the first part, but you can see it start to kind of gradually decrease in its quality right as when Obito pulls part of First and Eight tails out of Madara. The soundtracks that they used were amazing as always.

The plot was starting to build up too only for it to be cut off for another flashback filler which was highly disappointing for me, although it was cute.

I'll rate this week's episode a 3.5/5.

The first part of the episode was superb. It was lovely seeing Madara fodderizing Minato+Gaara+Kakashi animated.

As for the second part... well... that happened. Back to fillers it seems. Usually I wouldn't mind, but we literally just had like 20 F!@#ING filler episodes 1.5 episodes ago. WHAT THE F---, this is Fillerppuden! The manga finished LAST YEAR what the F@#$ is with the fillers man?

Seriously? You're telling me that we haven't seen thousands of times already Obito being late for the Academy and Rin giving him the papers he needed to complete? Besides it's not about that but also about a horrible timing, you simply don't put these kind of fillers out of the blue just when an arc of 6 months of fillers just ended! It completely ruined the atmosphere from the figth between Madara to Obito's childhood yet again. If anything, they could have given him 2 minutes of how Obito viewed kakashi changing because of his father's death and in any case next episode will be yet another filler about how Obito sees Kakashi's slow change of personality. This is not the time and place for such fillers, it would perfectly fit at Kakashi's arc, at this point they unecessarily stretch this out, no excuses allowed.

And on top of that, for one, like hyuuga prodigy said in another thread, there are kinda stalling for the main animators to come back for the good fights that are coming up since they are working on the boruto movie and two, as most people have already read the manga, it doesn't really matter if they add stuff to the anime, at least to me it doesn't. I understand your point but it really isn't that bad imo.

Ugh... the episode was nice for the first half. I can't believe they're pulling this again. I don't mind the content of the fillers, I liked it this time but the fact they're going and stopping going and stopping with the plot constantly is utterly annoying. It's like a car. accelerating, braking, accelerating, braking...

Wonderful first half. I really enjoyed seeing Madara's suprise as Obito Shoved his arm through his chest instead of taking his hand

But the secound half was dissapointing. Maybe if it was after a while without fillers, it might have been ok. But we just got out of a excruciatingly long filler saga...

You could say it was needed to explain how come he decided to betray Madara, but about 2 minutes of Flashback to Naruto's words or something would have been enough.

I'm also glad about flash backs Especially when it concerns characters we love such as kakashi, it's really nice to see scenes from their past as well ^_^

Fillers never really bothered me anyway ~
