Naruto RSM is the epitome of yang release, his Chakra/Physical prowess far exceed that of Sasuke. However his weakness is his Yin (Genjutsu). However Naruto became a psychic, establishing a mental connection with the Nine bijuu. This essentially protects him from genjutsu/mind manipulation and protects his psyche.

Sasuke EMS/Rinnegan is the epitome of yin release, his Genjutsu/Mental capacity far exceeds that of Naruto. However his weakness is Yang (Senjutsu). However his visual prowess can manifest the ultimate defense(Susanoo). This essentially protects him from physical domination.

As you can see Naruto and Sasuke are evenly matched, both each others strength and weakness.

Yang = Yin, one can't overpower the other.
