That was SageMode Kabuto using Tayuyas gengutsu...its not the same. Its been amped and made significantly more powerful by kabuto. Like for example, Shikamaru can break out of tayuyas genjutsu...but EMS Sasuke and Edo Itachi both need to use Sharingan to break out of kabutos genjutsu. So tayuyas genjutsu is fodder compared to kabutos genjutsu. Another example is alot of people can break out of yamatos wood release...but NOT alot of people can break out of hashiramas woid release. Same technique, diffrent power levels.
Sound 4 needed to go CS2 against tired and exhausted from mission genma and raido (leaf jonin)....zabuza alone could take or at the very least stalemate genma and raido.

two lines of logic to counter

Firstly, Shadow Bind can apply to self, genjutsu cannot not. So we cannot say how difficult it was to break the genjutsu for Itachi and Sasuke. We can only say that they needed an external force apply to their minds.

Secondly, other factors balance out. The fact that Kabuto was not the original user means that his skill is not the same (and genjutsu is more about skill than anything else). This is proven by how the bone forest is much weaker than the one Kimimaro could do. This tells us that Kabuto boosting the power was an attempt to balance out the weakness created by him not being the original user.

All in all, the only conclusive evidence we have says that Kabuto versions are actually weaker in output.
