I was wondering what the fanbase thoughts are on a Naruto series after this current one finishes. Now I know what we're all thinking...

But hear me out on this one, I think it would be interesting to make a Naruto in the far future, one where a majority of the current characters are gone. Kind of like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra.

The fear that most people have is that a new series could feel repetitive, unnecessary, and unoriginal. Kind of like how Dragonball GT was: which many fans complained that it was unworthy of holding the Dragonball name

Vegeta has a mustache, dafuq?

But if done correctly it could has the potential to be pretty awesome, and with a writer like Kishimoto-I wouldn't doubt it, he definitely has the ability to do it. I know he has expressed no intention of doing so, but hey he could change his mind.

Fans of the first Avatar have generally loved the second series. Even though it feels fresh and original, it still has a solid connection. (if you haven't seen the show before, I highly recommend it :))

So what do ya think? (no hate please, it's just a crazy thought of mine:sweat:

Naruto isn't that kind of show.

DBZ, obviously Goku is the main character but the over emphasis on power caused the show to be centered around that rather than the characters themselves. Not to mention, technically GT isn't even canon.

I can compare Naruto to something like Mass Effect. A story/game that sticks to character development at a high level and if taken out of the equation the entire thing falls apart.

Avatar wasn't anywhere close to Naruto's popularity. That's why it was ok to do that with Legend of Korra.

I'd prefer a slight time-skip to see a grown up Naruto (21-22) as Hokage and the strongest Shinobi in the world, but a new series that is too far off into the future that there isn't the majority of the cast? No.

I wouldn't mind a new part III, as long as Kishi can keep it going with the current crop of characters though.

You're right, I wasn't trying to compare the actual shows of Naruto and Avatar, just showing that it's not impossible to do a successful time skip in the far future

I was thinking maybe Naruto's son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter would be interesting, but the show would have to have some pretty good villains...

Sounds interesting but a time skip would be much better nothing so far ahead...Idk Naruto in his 20's still doing missions or working his way thur the ranks or even in anbu. Maybe a couple new enemies from ancient land from beyond the ninja world something different

Naruto can't work his way through the ranks anymore, he's already stronger then everyone else in his village.

It doesn't have necessarily follow Naruto (although the show is called Naruto, would he change the name? idk)
There are lots of unexplored topics in Naruto that could be introduced

I like the idea of an invading enemy from another land...
