I don't get why would Naruto go SM in the first place, but oh well...

I just hope Konohamaru being Chuunin is a joke, but I guess it doesn't matter...next time we see him in the manga the war will be over so he might actually become one
again, I hope not because he doesn't deserve it any more than Naruto did in his first Chuunin exam

Haku Yuki- Exactly! IMO sage mode is like a kekkei genkai. When naruto fought with neji in the chunin exams he used the kyuubi's chakra, so i dont understand the difference. Being able to use sage mode isnt cheating, it just means that he is better than the rest.

In the OVA, they banned it because it's not something that everyone can equally obtain or do.

In the actual Narutoverse it is not banned though so no worries.

The OVA was just supposed to be hilarious and it was.

you mean like: byakugan, sharingan, ninjutsu and genjutsu (lee), the 8 gates, gaaras sand, bugs, puppets, surgical implants (the sound team) being orochimaru, curse mark, convinient farting, akamaru, shadow possession, mind transfer, clones in any form, ninetails mode, shukaku mode, expansion jutsu, gentle fist, summoning, fire style, water style, wind style, earth style or lightning style.
thats everything i can think of that not everyone in the 1st chunin exams could do.

I only watched the fight itself, not the bits before and after it. But did they even tell Naruto that SM was banned? Or did they tell him and Naruto being his 'thick-headed' self used it anyway?

I think so! When Naruto and Konohamaru were talking and the announcer was still talking on the background but you couldn't hear, I think this is when they probably said it but I am not entirely sure. It makes sense since Naruto did not hear the announcement.

I personally thought it was a great, had some humour in it as well.
