Naruto Origins: Orochimaru - Chapter 2
A flash of light pierces the darkness of the room. After a few seconds his eyes readjust and the room becomes clear again. The silence was deafening. The ringing in the ears from past battles was made blatantly clear while he was moving towards the next target. Rain had begun to hit the window, much to the figures relief. The forecast had called for rain, but to his surprise it was surprisingly quiet all night. Now that the rain was here it would be easier to complete his task. The lock picking tools are removed from the pocket of his flak jacket and the forbidden chest is now opened. A few more flashes of light and the job is done. Suddenly, the shallow thud of heavy patrolling feet are heard. Two shadows appear in the thin array of light petruding from below the door. There is a rustling of keys and the door swings open.
The guard enters the room to find no one inside. Rain is hitting the window with a rhythmic patter. The guard swore he saw light flashes from under the door, but it must have been the lightning. Thunder crashes in the distance. The guard estimates that lightning must be 25 Km away based on the time from the flash of lightning and the crash of thunder. Another flash of lightning and the guard begins to count. "One one-thousand, Two one-thousand." and the thunder rolls. "Wow, this storm moved in fast" he thought to himself. He then closed and locked the door, returning to his patrol.
A red light flicks on in the darkroom. The lone ninja opens the back of the camera and begins to developed the film. As the chemical reactions take place in the pictures, words and pictures begin to show. At the top of one of the pictures the words "Edo Tensei" begin to form. "Kukuku", Orochimaru laughed. "With this and the Fushi Tensei, I will have information on all of the techniques known to this village." As the last picture develops, the words, "requires a sacrificial body" show at the bottom of the diagram. "Hmmm", Orochimaru pondered to himself, "A sacrificial body. Kukukuku."
Hiruzen Strolled down the street through the village. The sun was gleaming on him creating a subtle warmth that he found quite pleasant. Even though he was the hokage he still loved to walk around among the villagers to see them going through their everyday lives. The villagers loved this as well. It made the hokage seem as if he was one with the people and was taking an interest in their lives. He was especially delighted this day because his star pupil had put in his application to be hokage. Orochimaru was a genius that was only seen one every couple of generations. News had spread all over the land about "The Legendary Three", who had been recognized by Hanzou of the Rain. His students had finally learned to work together, and even though Jaraiya was in the Rain Country and the team was temporarily disbanded he knew they were destined for greatness. He was swelling with pride. Abruptly, a member of anbu approached Hiruzen. "Sir" he began, "A chunnin from a neighboring village has gone missing again. They are suspecting Konoha involvement." "Preposterous!" Hiruzen exclaimed, "Konoha has always been about keeping peace with our immediate neighbors and would never do such a thing. Tell them I am deeply concerned about the disappearance. If something like this can happen to them there is a possibility it can happen to Konoha as well. Increase patrols and tell the jounin and remaining anbu to keep a look out for suspicious activity." The anbu then disappeared as mysteriously as he had appeared.
As night fell, a figure moved through the woods. He pressed his hand against a boulder and a glowing seal then emerged. The face of the vanished and the entrance to the cave was shown. As the figure moved into the main room, muffled shouts of fear and anger were heard. "Easy there, kukuku." Orochimaru laughed. "We will begin shortly." More muffled shouts were made from the chunnin as he desperately tried to shout for help through his gag, but it was to no avail. "Can only speak in vowels can we?" Orochimaru mocked. Orochimaru began to mix the final ingredient into his potion. the potion turned from red to purple and had an ominous glow. Orochimaru then inserted it into a needle and jammed it into the chunnins restrained arm. The was no scream in pain, only a deadly stare the shot at Orochimaru.

The enzyme finally began to incorporate into the host's cells. The cellular fusion allowed for increased strength and stamina of the host. Side effects included taking the shape of an animal, loss of inhibitions and increased rage. One of the arm restraints was destroyed in the process. After the subject was restrained he complained of chest pain and suddenly collapsed. Autopsy showed the subject suffered a major heart attack from substantially increased adrenal functions and subsequently expired.
"Another failed experiment" Orochimaru said to himself, "But I will Harness this power!"
Down the hall, two anbu listen to what transpired in the main room. "We have to report this to the hokage at once." One of the anbu whispered. A voice came from behind them, "Well, we can't have that now, can we?" The two anbu split to try and escape, but one was snatched in a trap. "Kukuku, looks like I have another participant in my clinical trial." The remaining anbu narrowly escaped the rigged cave which had deadly traps at every turn. His thoughts were with his partner. He knew he needed to work fast for this could no be done alone.
Hiruzen was in his study reading and think about the events that transpired that day. He had met with the council and after much discussion it was decided that he would not be the best choice for hokage. The elders had noticed that his actions have become suspicious and very mysterious ever since they returned from the rain country. He would disappear for days at a time and always had a scowl on his face. Hiruzen himself had noticed this as well, but shoved the thoughts away due to his longing for Orochimaru to prosper. A soft knock from his door displaced Hiruzen from his thoughts. He answered to see a kneeling anbu before him. "At ease. What information did you retrieve?" Hiruzen asked the raising anbu. "Sir", The anbu paused as if he could not bear to give the information, "It's Orochimaru..."
